What Happened to EVEN HEROES CRY?

It's been a long time since I updated this thing. If your reading this, then it's probably because you want to know what's going on with my DBZ fic.

When I originally wrote the story, it was as an emotional response to the fic "The Ones They Take For Granted" by Pareathe over on MediaMiner. I enjoyed the story, but the way that Gohan was portrayed as just giving up his marriage to Goku, struck a nerve. So I started working on a story of my own where it was Gohan that left instead of Goku and would come back to earth for revenge against Goku and Videl. I posted two chapters and was well on the way into the third when my computer crashed. At that point in time I did not regularly back files up files and everything I had was on that hard drive, except for a one page scene with Trunks at Capsule Corp Headquarters discussing an upcoming party that chapter with Bulma .

By that point, it was my notes and stuff of that nature that had kept me writing. The emotion that had originally urged me to start working on Even Heroes Cry had long since past by the time of the crash.

I've tried to respond to people's PM's, reviews, and emails about when the next chapter will come out, but for those of you that I haven't told... the answer is not anytime soon.

I haven't stopped writing, but the focus of my stories has changed. I'm no longer writing or reading Dragonball fics, but on occasion I still think about some of the things I wanted to do with it.

Currently I'm working on almost a dozen different stories focusing on Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossovers. Starring Xander Harris specifically.

One day I may return to finish off Even Heroes Cry, but for the moment it will remain as is. I'm more than happy with telling anyone how the story would have played, if you want to email, but for the most part what's on the site is all there is.

I want to say to everyone that has read, reviewed, or emailed me their support of my work my deepest gratitude. I hope that whatever it was that you saw in this piece of fiction, will be in the others of my work.

Peeves (The Things I hate about Fanfics)

Bashing

I can not stand bashing. I LOATHE bashing in fics. Words can not describe how irked it makes me when authors start bashing characters and you can tell the ones that do it. Altering a story so that the main character is in a different situation is one thing, but to have character B acting in such an antagonistic and bitchy way for no reason, really pisses me off.

I can understand people not liking a character, I personally didn't like how Sasuke was becoming so much stronger than Naruto so quickly, but I didn't go out and make a story mocking the guy. My philosophy is if you don't like a character just don't use em. If I don't like character B, then guess what? Character B won't be showing up in my story and if they do it will be on the edge of the story so they have no bearing on it whatsoever.

Weasley and Dumbledore bashing. One of the most common ones that I come across and that I can't understand for the life of me. These people have been kind and loving and, yes Dumbledore was misguided about his plans, yet authors have them being some of the most sneaky, conniving, and in some cases down right evil, people in the entire series. Heck they could eve give Voldemort and his Death Eaters some lessons in being evil.

Team 7 bashing. Given that Naruto fics are probably my most read this is the one that I encounter the most. And what makes it so messed up is the fact that the authors that do it base it on characteristics that either never existed in the first place, or in Sakura's case, doesn't exist anymore.

Stop it people. Whether you realize it or not, those characters that you like to bash so much are enjoyed by some of your readers and bashing can turn someone off to not only that fic, but your work in it's entirety.

Things that interrupt the story

Song lyrics, author notes in the middle of the chapter, a character breaking the fourth wall. Anything that takes the reader out of the story is something that irritates me.

Pairing wars

If you don't like a pairing, that's fine. Just don't knock someone else's taste. I don't like Naruto/Hinata, but I don't go around saying that someone is stupid if they do.

Justice League story

During the battle with the Revenge Squad, Superman was sent thousands of years forward in time. What if instead of being hurtled into the future he was sent backward through. Permanently weakened from the ordeal, how will the Man of Steel deal with being in an age myth and legend. And why does that beautiful blonde look so darn familiar.
