Jon Arryn, the most andal man on the continent lol. I think that the reality of Lyanna's fate was close to your description. While Robert hadn't loved her in the true sense of the word he loved the idea of her and the possibility to unite Baratheons and Starks. Given her headstrong nature and her love for adventure she would possibly tame Robert and perhaps Robert would experience true love. He would perhaps shed his drinking and whoring which I believe were coping mechanisms after the harsh reality of the word came crashing down on the young stormlord after watching his parents' ship drown.

I get that we’re seeing through the lens of the SI but they’re (the non-SI characters) a bit inconsistent without some other context to explain them. Just my thoughts.

It is a sad world we live in. We see many badly written fanfiction that reaches 250000 words like most of the Twilight stories, or Harry /Snape slash. Yet we are left waiting for one more chapter for the last three years.
