Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard.

Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may 'die' and need replacing. If I was to sum up why I like the different pairings I'd be wasting my time. Just trust me when I say: I have my reasons to ship certain pairings. You have questions, I'll gladly answer them. Also, I know that a lot of these are completely insane, like James "Bucky" Barnes/Thor Odinson, and the answer to pairings such as that is: NO, I don't know why.

Draco Malfoy/Hermione Granger has forevermore been my OTP of OTPs, for a very long time, I tell you, and that won't change anytime soon, either, that I can assure you most certainly. (Which is also partly why I am so reluctant to pair the two of them up with other characters than each other, particularly if they are paired up with someone who reminds me of Draco and/or Hermione.) Although, I place all thanks to Bex-chan and her fic, Isolation, for getting me started on the Dramione pairing. May whatever deities living bless her soul forever! All of her fics are beautiful.

Hermione Granger/Tom Riddle, as in the sixteen-year-old ghost we see during Chamber of Secrets, unexplored and unknown prior to his fall into utter darkness, not Lord Voldemort upon his graduation or during the First Wizard War or after his resurrection at the end of Goblet of Fire. I put all blame for my liking of this couple on Provocative Envy and her story War Paint, found both here on FanFiction and on AO3; I highly recommend reading her stories as they are all gorgeous, from her Tomione stories to Dramione and Parry (Harry/Pansy). There are, of course, other Tomione stories that I enjoy, like Lady Moonglow's, Have You Ever, and Please, Save Me by Winterblum isn't bad either. Same can be said about Tied for Last by Speechwriter and unsphere the stars by cocartist. But whom am I to judge, it's a weird pairing that I am very sceptical about, but very intrigued and fascinated to know more about as well.

Also, Loki can be paired up with almost anyone in my book. I have an ambiguous relationship to Thorki for a reason, but I understand why people like it, and at times, if the fic is well written and good, I'll support it; hence the reasoning on liking so many people shipped with Loki. Frankly, there are few pairings with Loki that I do not ship or outright dislike. I do not take a liking to Darcy Lewis/Loki or Loki/Natasha Romanoff (and for that fact, I don't ship Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff either). And then there's Valki, Valkyrie (also known as Brynnhildr, or Brun for short) x Loki, and that heavily implied uncomfortable something between him and the Grandmaster, I can't stand it. Otherwise, I ship Loki with every other plausible character who is not evil.
