I think it is beautiful when they have flashback of an other life. And is Astoria rembering the other life? Seriously, I love your work.

I just wanted to say that I've read an awful lot of fanfic, but this one really has something special. I love the way you manage to distill what's fundamentally a part of each character even when circumstances change-I think you've done an especially good job with figuring out what drives Harry now that he has a solid, loving upbringing, and I'm *so* here for Draco raised by more reasonable parents. Hermione is just... in character, and really well written in character, and thank you for that. 3

I really want to know what happens next, though! I selfishly need to read that enough has changed to let Sirius survive fifth year, and I'm rooting for Neville to come out okay once somebody (hopefully? please?) realizes that he's being posessed by ol' Voldy. I know the world is so crazy right now, so I understand if you don't have the time or energy to write right now, but I've followed the story and will definitely be coming back for more when you write more!

In the meantime, time to go read your whole backlog. Keep being wonderful :)

7/4/2020. Happy 4th of July to all you Americans! (From the only open beach town in all of Southern California!) Despite our fracturing, our fear, and our fury, I still believe in the experiment that is the U.S.A. The fundamental beliefs: (1) You don’t have to live with and suffer under the lot you’ve been born into (but you can MOVE your body/mind/heart/perspective to where you have enough space to pursue happiness). (2) Reflect upon history and build upon the best of it, and Improve upon the rest (English govt French govt American govt (roughly)). Yes, we are in the process of doing a lot of Moving and Improving right now. There is lot of room for both. Today I send out a wish for freedom, safety, and love for every living being. My greatest prayer is that everyone can be safe and Thrive as themselves. Freedom of speech and respectful exchange of ideas is where it’s at. Fanfiction engages our hearts and minds in questioning the status quo, imaging ourselves in other people’s life experiences, and practicing re-visioning “life as we know it.” How can we see it better or differently. How can we live it better. What assumptions can we question. I thank you, Colubrina and others among the most talented fanfic writers, for leading us through this valuable exercise in human plasticity. Think you’ve been “wasting your time” on fanfic?
