OMG OKAY so i dont usually review for fanfics but i cANT NOT REVIEW AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT THE IRON GIANT REFERENCE OH GOD IM CRYING THAT MADE MY DAY

It's been a year since you've last updated this story, so I'm assuming you've either dropped it (if you really did, it's a shame) or you've secretly written 12 more chapters and refrained from posting them because you were afraid our hearts would tear out of chest if we ever read them. (ya know, because they were so good).
I would like to believe in the latter but I know it's (99.99%) not true. I really hope you do end up updating this story soon. If you don't, my brain will just start making up scenarios which could have played out between Jack and Hic, but didn't, because, you know, you stopped at the 12 chapter...
Did I mention this story is amazing? Well written in all the places, and sure, there are a lot of alliteration and all that shit, but it's your own style of writing which I've never seen before. Well, not to the extent in which you used the power of words. Your words just blend in together and loop around each other like a dance that I feel like Im intruding upon just by reading, does that make sense? And then when there's a particularly deep/ emotional scene, the way you use the words just makes my heart stutter and skip a beat.
So pretty much, I'm gonna follow this story in hopes that you will continue it.

No. Why. Why is this so sad? I'm crying so hard. The way you wrote the end, the part where Jack says "no following," that just tore at my heartstrings and made my tear ducts create a surplus of tears. I was bawling minutes ago. Now I'm hiccuping. :)

I feel bad that it's taken me this long to find this. But I absolutely love this, and I really hope that even though you haven't updated since 2012, you come back to this and update. I really want to know what happens next, how their story goes on from this. I loved when Jack started talking about Twilight outside Hiccup's house, and how Hiccup can still see him. I am, probably like your other readers, upset with the whole Astrid thing. Poor girl hasn't done anything wrong but we all can't stand her being between Hiccup and Jack lol.

Please continue this. Please. I am so amazed and so in love with your style of writing, and the story itself. The way you played with words and their - as you said - juxtaposition. The way you portrayed their emotions and thoughts just as well as their dialogue. The way you mess with their feelings, automatically messing with mine too.
I hope you know that this is the most well written hijack fic I have ever read, and to be honest, I've read almost all of them.
I don't know how I should express my love for this fic, considering that English isn't my native language and I can't play with words, nor easily execute whatever I feel with the right ones. But I want you to know that I. Love. This. Story. And please, please, update it soon because this *gesturing to all of me* bucket of feelings would explode with curiosity if you don't.

To say that this is a magnificent story would be the gravest understatement I would have ever made about a person's work. It's beautifully written and constructed, it makes my heart clench in anticipation and agony, the words are poetry and the hand that writes this is that of an artist.

It's been a very long time since any fanfiction has affected me in such a way; I am not ashamed to admit that I cried, especially in this chapter. I adore the complexity and depth of their characters and the allusions and symbolisms are of that rare quality that has eluded me for quite some time, despite my efforts. I wholly thank you for dedicating your time to writing and enriching this fandom with your work. I hope to read more from you soon!

I literally only got into this ship yesterday and I dived in headfirst and this is probably one of the best fics I've read for it, if not the best. Your writing is seriously beautiful and so engaging, and the way you characterize Jack and Hiccup plays them so well as the sweet, witty but awkward teenagers they are. This story is absolutely addictive so far and I've basically read from beginning to the end of this chapter in one sitting.

I only have a couple of real criticisms - one tiny technical one being (and I'm sorry if someone has already brought this up) the repeated use of the phrase "several" in the context of eyes, which paints a strange picture in the head of someone having spider eyes or something of the sort, since "several" usually denotes many, not just two. So "several green eyes looked up" is kind of an offsetting expression and it might be best to avoid that one in the future and stick to "two", "a pair", etc.

The other is more related to the storyline progression, as I found the very first time Hiccup saw Jack again kind of anticlimactic? Clearly they had a very highly-charged romantic moment, but I'm still kind of waiting for Hiccup to start questioning how Jack is even there and what that whole ice/frost puzzle was about. It also surprised me a little for Hiccup to just suddenly remember meeting Astrid and be so determined to see her all of a sudden, because romantic feelings aside, it seems like if you had just run into your dead best friend of three years it would definitely take top priority to solve the entire mystery and make sure they wouldn't disappear again before letting them out of your sight. So far it just sort of seems like they're both taking Jack's miraculous "resurrection" in a stride and finding it a little too easy to fall back into old patterns, but that could also just be the case if they're both still in shock, maybe?

Just some thoughts that I hope you don't take too much offense to or anything, as I definitely still find this incredibly enjoyable no matter what. I'm really looking forward to the next update. You honestly have wonderful skills.
