Author has written 24 stories for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Gallagher Girls, Young Justice, Justice League, Greek Mythology, Rise of the Guardians, and Alvin and the chipmunks. Hi I'm Lisa I'm 20 years old, was born on March 5, and love to read and write and I love all genres of books. Ah let me see some other things are: Favorite series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!' There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!' He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak. Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!' He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. 'Thanks,' he said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began, 'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach... but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story.' I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. 'Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.' I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and Dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others. Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing" Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child, and he added a running obbligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed what could have been a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was so mesmerized that they couldn't recall what else the great master played. only the classic, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Perhaps that's the way it is with God. What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't always graceful flowing music. However, with the hand of the Master, our life's work can be beautiful. The next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You may hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, "Don't quit. Keep playing." May you feel His arms around you and know that His hands are there, helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces. Remember, God doesn't seem to call the equipped, rather, He equips the 'called.' Life is more accurately measure by the lives you touch than by the things you acquire. So touch someone by passing this little message along. May God bless you and be with you always What you call being "too lazy to review" is what we call "a flame to the pages" as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt "too lazy" to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think... "Why am I even here…?" "What's even the point of continuing?" "My skills must be terrible…no one cares for my story…" "I'll never be a good writer...I quit." These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head- that go through MY head- when we put out a chapter / story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word. If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts… If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…"Wow…I did it…" So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here? Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause. Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm it would have deeply enjoyed. So… Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise. Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fanfiction.net, and see if you can help it. If it has very little / no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind. Stories to recommend: Harry Potter If you love the 'Reading the Harry Potter Books' fics like I do you should DEFINITELY read: Past, Present, Future: Reading the Books 1 by UnknownUnseenUnheard(they also have the second book up too and are writing it at this moment and you should read it, it's my favorite). If you like Lily/James there's: Lily in Love by maya selene(one-shot) Percy Jackson Everlasting Promises by Starblade176. Oh my gosh, this story is absolutely and completely brilliant! Definitely my favorite story on fanfiction! It's a Percy Guardian of the hunt story as well as a Chaos story with one of my favorite pairings, Pertemis. The chapters are enormous(I think the biggest one was 50,000 words!) The story is so compelling, slightly gory, funny, and so much more, I've read it thousands of times and just adore it so much that I could never get tired of reading it! If you read this I promise that you definitely won't regret it! Another amazing story is Protogenoi Army: A Whole New Life by KimJoysu. I love this story so much, it definitely in the top five of my favorite stories! It's a Chaos story and is amazing. It's on Percy leaving camp and joining this army. It so fun to read and really keeps you on your seat as you wait for the next chapter. It definitely doesn't have all the reviews it deserves so I hope you read it because I can promise that you will love it too. If you like the whole 'Percy Jackson meets Chaos' fics then you should definitely read Knights of Chaos by wacko12, he was actually the first person who wrote about Chaos in the Percy Jackson series(there is also a sequel out right now called "War of Trust and Deception" that he is still writing oh and he has another story called 'Blade of Chaos' but it's different), definitely my favorite one. If you want a really, absolutely, and completely amazing 'Percy Jackson meet's Chaos' fic you should read, Percy Jackson and the Powers of Chaos by Dowy Sixst Haevens. It's like a regular Chaos story at the start but then a HUGE twist comes in and then an even BIGGER one comes in and it's way different then the rest! It's fantastically brilliant, one of my favorite fanfictions!!!:) If you like stories where the Olympians and demigods read Percy Jackson then you should read The Olympians read 'The Lightning Thief' by Kayla-thebored(after lost hero. Piper, Leo, Jason, Clarisse, Annabeth, Connor, Travis, Thalia, Katie, Nico, and Rachel are the demi-gods). If you like the 'Son of Neptune' stories and love Percabeth and Pothena(Poseidon and Athena) you should definitely read The Son of Neptune by mirasaya16. I absolutely adore this story and it is definitely my favorite Son of Neptune story I've read so far! If you love Percabeth than you should read High School For Annabeth Chase by Kayla-thebored. It's about Annabeth transferring to Goode and finding out Percy's the most popular person there and she has to deal with the girls who love him, including one girl who won't get it through her head that Percy doesn't like her and never will. If you like angtsy Clarisse/Chris fic then you should read: Calamity Clarisse by Clichesbullet, it's absolutely amazing; I adore every part of it and it's so in character! Plus it had Beckendorf in it occasionally and Silena in it every single chapter as a main character. If you like the couple Tratie(Travis and Katie) here are some fics I recommend: How to tell him by xxCharmspeakerxx Slowly But Surely by Last Girl Standing(one of those Alphabet stories) Seasons of Love by BadgerInMySoup(one-shot) 600 floors by RosesAreOrange(one-shot) It's You by E. M. Zeray(one-shot) Positive by BlissfulIgnorance95(one-shot) You Belong With Me by beholdthestars(one-shot) (yea I'm obsessed with Tratie, got a problem with that?) Pretty much Annabeth is popular but Percy's not but he tries to gather the courage to ask her out even though practically every boy in the school is too, all human.) Want a Kiss? by Akatsuki Child(Fluffy Christmasy Percabeth story involving kisses, tricks, and sweetness, all human.) I Love Truth Or Dare by kayla-thebored(Percabeth one-shot, extremely cute and fluffy) New Year in New York by supersadisticsam004(sweet, Percabeth story) Secret Life of Annabeth Chase by BlueBerrySourStraps(story on Annabeth and Thalia faking their deaths to become famous singers. After that, the go back to Goode school in a new identity and drama starts between then and Percy(who's dating a mean Rachel) and Nico(who's dating Drew). I love this story, it's amazing.) You've Got Mail by HAWTgeek(If you've ever seen the movie 'You've Got Mail' starring Tom Hanks, it follows that plotline, but Percabeth style and a little different. It's an amazing story that I adore. The summary is: It's been six years since Percy left Annabeth abruptly. Annabeth ran away to California to get away from it all, and she still doesn't know why he left her. Annabeth tried to go on with her life and stay as far away from Percy, who had tried to find her and finally explain, but she doesn't know that Percy is AtlanticBoy16,the boy she's been talking to for three months online.) For ApolloThalia stories I recommend: Ten Days by Akatsuki Child(I adore their stories, is that so wrong???). This was my first ever ApolloThalia story and it was definitely worth it to read and I now completely love this couple, I totally recommend it to you. There's also a sequel called, "Contentions" but it is on hiatus right now.) There are four chapters and each ones a new one-shot, I adore them and you will to) Power Rangers The Shadow and the Light Trilogy by ZeoViolet(I'm completely obsessed with Power Rangers and have been since before I can remember. I have recently gotten into a big power ranger mood, especially on Phantom and Cassie stories(which there are, sadly, not as many of as you want). If you love this couple, this story is on them getting together, learning Phantom's identity, learning of his past, reuniting with his family, etc. It's amazing, I absolutely adored this story and if you like this pairing I know you will too!) |
