Okay I have to pause for a sec because I HAVE to review! As a Californian, I am REALLY enjoying this story. I recognize ALL the places you’re mentioning here and I love the way this was written. I’m not from the Bay Area, I’m from SoCal but I have visited many parts of California and Fisherman’s Wharf was one of them, it was a great experience. The part about the BART had me dying cause I didn’t have a good experience myself the first time I rode a BART XD it’s so effective but so complicated! I prefer the Metro system but that’s bias since I’m from SoCal. Stanford man xD I was kind of surprised you didn’t send Al to UC Berkeley. Anyway I’m really liking this, great job!

Ahhhhhhhhhh this was sooooooooooo beautiful. I could have never imagined a better ending. I was so happy to see francis back. Everything fell into its right place in the end to turn the last chapter into a brilliant one. Thanks for writing. It was thoroughly enjoyed.

I think this is a fantastic fanfiction overall. I especially love the storyline, the slow buildup, Alfred's stupid puns, everything.

One of my favourite things about this whole fic was the descriptions of the locations. It made it feel so much more real getting such a clear image of the setting. And I also really loved the fact that you went into a bit of detail about the characters' jobs. I work in publishing, and I'm so used to USUK fics being like "Arthur was an editor so he sat there editing books all day long" - even though that's not necessarily what being an editor means. And it's certainly not the only part of the publishing process. So it was cool seeing a more realistic version of my industry in a fic!

I think my favourite thing about this last chapter was that the misunderstanding about the Pendelton phonecall didn't get dragged out too long. Even movies and published books are so guilty of making small misunderstandings get blown out of all proportion, and I sit there thinking "If you had just taken five seconds to explain this earlier, none of this drama would have happened!" So I really loved how Arthur just went to Alfred and said "Hey, I thought you didn't like me and I might get fired, so I applied for other jobs." It was such a relief to get that all cleared up, because I didn't want Arthur and Alfred both being so sad!

I totally got the reference to 'Where The Most Beautiful Roses Grow' - I love that story! I also really loved the last line - so fricking smooth! XD Quality writing right there.
