Fan fiction is a reflection of our lives, a concept, an idea that remains a integral part of the expressionism of our imaginations. Though we are taking precedent from already established plot lines and other author's, we now have been provided the free and unlimited license to change these ideas as we please! For better or for worse, but more importantly than that; so that we can exercise the joy of writing. Writing is the ultimate test of your imagination's ability to synthesize the creative powers at hand into a unified and evocative expression of ourselves, our ambitions, ideas, and hobbies. Though the world about us is cast into a shroud of stress, guilt, misery and frustration, here and only here can we truly escape into the worlds of fantasy and fiction, and relinquish our passions to the extent of our writing abilities. Writing is the creation of pure mind, on par with the genius of art and with the transfixing wonder that music impels, and is a gift that we all can share. Though some are more blessed in ability and vision than others, the bliss of fan fiction is that we all can write, the bliss is that we all can inscribe who we are into the landscapes and adventures of the unreal and surreal. We can all partake, to the extent that we write, in the profits of creating worlds far beyond the physical realm and within the realms of imagination that the medium of words provide. Through this adventure we come to expand our horizons, to broaden our perspective, to bend and exceed our limits, to explore recesses of the world both real and invisible about us, and most profoundly, to discover something new about we are. Be careful, do not get lost. I am but a burgeoning Senior in Highschool that wishes to partake in these profits, and hope that you do as well. So as my good friend would say "Merry Writing!" and enjoy fanfiction. Sincerely DBack47 2013 To the reader Never before have so many people known so much about things that they understand so little. That's not my quote, but its one that narrates the modern age in the developed world-where the gap between truth and the canvass of society continues to grow. It is more important, more than ever before, to connect ourselves with our own identities, with our own souls-before we are lost and torn away by the great forces that direct our futures. So read, explore and discover a part of yourself that no one except yourself can expose-your own heart. Grasp the authenticity of feeling the excitement of a novel, the satisfaction of art produced by your own hands, the breathtaking wonder of walking off the trodden path, and the glories of the simple pleasures in life. Finally, write because more than anything, writing tests your knowledge and expands it-it reflects the soul and examines it, it defines the identity and refines it. With these tools that our society so often buries among the duties of school, work and indulgence, voyage on, bold adventurers. Sincerely DBack47 Some Information about myself. Age: 20 years of age...guy...absolutely nuts...my sister and I don't always get along but we still love each other...what else is new? I am always ready to be contacted, please drop a message if you wish. 2014 This is the 4th year of being on fanfiction and my time to write is less than it ever has been before. Between work and school, most of my time is spent landing airplanes in FSX :D, but there's always that yearning to let my hands dance over the keyboard once again and attempt to inflect my imagination upon the readers here. However, for the most part, I just sit back and enjoy the show. The authors in DP fandom continue to surprise and invent, and even though the glory days are over, the twilight years of this fandom are almost as enjoyable to read. It shows more than a enthusiasm for the show, but also a resonance of youth with the fiction here; all the hopes, dreams, frustrations, and irrationality of teenagers is expressed through each individual author's interpretation of Danny Phantom, and it's marvelous to observe. The older I myself get, however, the smaller the world seems to become and the more weak I realize I am, despite all that energy in highschool and early college that promised limitless horizons. Beyond that, who knows, only humility seems to be the correct way to view it all, with the dry perspective of my nascent experience. In that view, Danny Phantom fanfiction is a very rosy picture indeed, and I can't help but look back with the best of memories and encouragement to all other author's here. But what am I to keep the wheels of our minds grounded? Break out from the mundane, wipe away your doubts and fears, fly my friends, and write! Write to the heavens and turn the world into your playground upon which the fancies of our fondest wishes can become real, the evils of human existence become the definite enemy, and the world is cast in black and white curtains between which the drama and beauty of the human soul will show itself for all who care to observe can observe and marvel. Voyage on bold adventurer! The best years are still yet ahead. Sincerely DBack47 | |||||||
