Some Things Are Meant To Be Remembered And Not Forgotten...

February 21st, 2015-

Hello everyone! Here is an update from me! Stories that I will be focusing on as of right now and hopefully updating soon are 'What Shouldn't Be Forgotten' and 'Priceless Moments'! I am currently trying to rewrite chapters 4&5 of WSBF as well as outlining 6. As for PM, I do have another chapter in the works for our lovely couple. I am still open to any ideas/lines that any of you fine readers would like to see put into action! Please note that, if you do have one please PM me and I will see what I can do. You will also be acknowledged in the A/N that it was your line/idea - stating that whoever gave me the line will get credit where credit is due.

Type Music I like: I'm a BIG Country Music fan, I also like Classical music and Instrumental music.

Hobbies: Reading (Types of books very) and Writing, and Archery

A few Pet Peeves I've found recently that I've developed:

--Drabbles-- While they are lovely to read and all, I've found that recently, most authors have been writing more and more of them lately instead of actual stories. I mean, I get that they are somewhat easier to write, what with the chapters being shorter, you can post more chapters, leave people hanging, and are done sometimes for challenges. Some people even post multiple chapters in one day, thus causing the amount of words that are posted in those chapters, to add up. Giving you have a good size single chapter of at least thousand words. Sometimes two chapters if the author were to post a couple times a day, which some do.

--Unfinished Stories-- Now while I am guilty of doing this with one of mine (the other in progress is updated as I find new lines, and ideas to go with said lines.), I have a couple of reasons for this. Real life and I have to re-write a lot of what I had planned, seeing as it was all written out on my last laptop - with no back up before said laptop went bye-bye. But I really hate it when, I find a really good and/or interesting story by someone, only to find that they post one or two chapters with that one and then start a new one - a couple days later. You could always, I don't know, type it up and then wait until you finish the other story. Another reason I hate unfinished stories is. Authors will write a few chapters and then go away for a while come back and then go way. I know what you are going through as a writer, when your muse comes and goes as it pleases, but still...

--No Editing-- It seems like these day that, more and more people are posting things without going through them and editing them. That people are not using Betas anymore. That, and they are just typing whatever comes to mind, saving it, and posting it - hoping that people like it. They put the following and call it a chapter:

Jane: "r u going 2 the prty 2nite, Ron"
Ron: "cant. Pops is being stupid & wont let me. Say that he didnt like how my grades were when the report cards came out"

Or

Cindy: "i cant w8 4 2night 2 cum tommy. only 6 more hrs 2 go."
Tommy: " me either cindy"
3 minutes later
(Insert random scene)
2 seconds later
(Insert random scene)
6 hrs later.
(Insert random scene)

These are just two of the of the most random, but very common, of thing that I have seen.

Another example is, bad grammar and spelling, as well as usage of certain words and punctuation. Like, 'maid' instead of 'made', the wrong form of 'to' (to, too, or two). Using texting as a form of proper English. It's as if people are getting lazy and/or don't give a (insert your own choice word(s) here), and rather post something rather than nothing. If you are going to post something please at least try to put some effort into it. Capitals! That shouldn't be needing a explanation.

--Details-- There is a thing as too much detail! While details are important, some people don't get it that you don't have to describe every thing all at once. You can leave out a few things here and there, to be brought into the picture later on. This one, in particular, happens a lot with people when the are describing clothing, or what a character is wearing in every scene. Sure, it's nice to picture them in your head, after a while it get's annoying.

--Paragraphs & Spacing-- This one has to be one of my biggest pet peeves! Now the other day, I found this story that had been posted and after I read the summary, I thought to myself: "This seems to be really interesting, I think I'll give it a shot." So I opened it up, and low and behold... a mega paragraph. I mean the whole thing was one giant paragraph - no spacing, each piece of dialog from one character started right after the dialog from another, and there was no spacing between sentences.

This is something I like to call "smushing".

Smushing is where someone is to damn lazy to hit the damn space bar and/or enter key to start a new line.

I'm not telling you have to start a new line for every damnable sentence, but please use your keys.

This pet peeve goes particularly well with my editing pet peeve.

--Rushing-- Another thing that I notice is that when some authors decides to write something; they rush to get every last thing down, that they make it seem that they are running a marathon while writing. Slow down! Drag it out a little, put a little suspense in it. Don't forget that saying 'If you don't look where you are going, you're more that likely to trip and fall'... Okay I don't really think that is a true quote, but still you get the gist of it. When you rush, things are forgotten and you make mistakes. Take your time when writing. You're not running a marathon! When you write like this, some readers can't enjoy a good story. It could be the most interesting story of all time! But if you feel rushed, then do are your readers!

Again this goes well with my editing and smushing pet peeves.
