Eiji stood on the border of the tennis court, looking at Momo and Fuji as they played a singles match; he wasn't really paying much attention to the two of them. In fact, he wasn't even aware that someone was talking to him.

"Eiji-senpai!"

A slight jump and Eiji turned curious eyes to Ryoma, who was looking on at him with a raised brow. "Ochibi-chan... gomen..."

Ryoma shook his head, "what's wrong, senpai?"

"I was just thinking..."

"About Higurashi-san?"

That response had taken Eiji by surprise. "You know her?"

"I have ears, you know? Fuji-senpai called her that."

"Ah... that's true." Eiji slid down against the fence, sitting with his knees drawn into his chest. He sighed, "Yeah, I was thinking about... what Momo said."

"What did he say?"

"I never told you guys that I was dating such a cute girl..."

"It's none of our business, is it?"

Eiji smiled, "Well, it's got nothing to do with that. I never told you, because I wasn't dating her... and still, I'm not sure."

"Do you like her?"

Eiji blushed, "Yeah..."

"Do you love her?"

"N-nani!? What do you know about love, Ochibi!"

Ryoma shrugged, glancing to the side. Eiji followed Ryoma's eyes and his own widened. "Do you-"

"I don't care really what your answer is, but if you love her, you should tell her. Whether things work out or not, at least you'll know that you tried. I guess that's right... right?"

He sounded uncertain. Eiji smiled, "I think that's how it works... thanks Ochibi-chan... and good luck yourself."

"Hm,"

Eiji watched Ryoma walk off and laughed softly to himself, 'How very fitting... ' Standing, he turned and grabbed his bag before taking off in another direction, completely opposite of the tennis courts, and heading straight towards the Gymnastics competition which was taking place at that very moment.

Kagome took in the competition and sighed, she hated Hyotei Academy's gymnastics team. The girls were a bunch of suck ups with horrible personalities. Though she had respect for their training and their routines, the team members themselves were all just mean girls. But none of the girls were nearly as bad as the team leader; Kirasagi, Fumiko was arrogant, rude and selfish. She seemed to think the world revolved around her, and that anyone in a close vicinity of her, had to do as she told them. Even now, as she walked over to Kagome, she held her hand out expectantly to one of the girls on her team, taking the water bottle held out to her, Kagome rolled her eyes as Fumiko stopped in front of her. "Kirasagi-San, how goes your day."

"It's perfect, but you're in my way."

"I'm sure you can go around me,"

"No... no I can't, but you can move," she said in a sickly sweet tenor.

Kagome withheld the need to roll her eyes and sidestepped Fumiko, "My bad,"

Fumiko walked past her and was about to round a corner when she slipped and her water bottle went flying through the air. Kagome twisted her body in a downward arch and rolled her shoulders back as she let her hands touch back on the ground with her left foot outstretched in the air, successfully catching the water bottle with her foot and balancing it with ease before kicking her foot a bit into the air and pivoting with unmatched grace as she landed her left foot behind her right and caught the water bottle in her hand before walking over to Fumiko.

"You dropped this," she said sweetly in her own cockiness as she placed the water bottle down next to Fumiko, who was still on the ground.

Walking off, Kagome made her way to the score boards as she waited to see if anything was going to change. They were on the last team, and so far, hers was in first place on the vaults, the beam, and the uneven bars and second place on the floor.

"Looks like you did pretty good this time around."

Kagome smiled, "We usually do, but I don't want to make any assumptions until they call out the winners." Turning around, she smiled, "What are you doing here Eiji? Miss me already?"

"... I wanted... no, needed to talk to you."

Kagome raised a brow, "Here?"

"Here, there, anywhere!"

Kagome looked shocked and watched as a few heads turned to see what was going on. "Look, Eiji... I'm sorry if I said something, now or earlier, that upset you, or maybe even offended you, but can we wait until they call—"

"The Scores have been reviewed and are now in, changes will be made accordingly. Starting with our Vaults, in Third Place... Rikkaidai... Second Place... Hyotei... and First Place... Seigaku!"

Kagome whispered softly to herself, "One..."

"In Floor Routine...Third Place... Fudomine... Second Place Seigaku... First Place Hyotei. In Uneven Bars... Third Place Hyotei... Second Place Rikkaidai... First Place Seigaku."

"That's two..."

"And finally... with the Balance Beam... Third Place Rikkaidai... Second Place... Hyotei... and First Place... Seigaku! With our scores, we will see our First, Second and Third Place Schools at the next competition, to the rest of the school that came out today, we hope to see you all again, please train and try harder next time."

"Three first place... and one second... Not bad at all!" Kagome smiled brightly. Turning to her team, she raised her hand high in the air to catch their attention, "Starting today, we will be practicing for the Championships! There will be no more choking, and no more room for error in our routines! I will ask for nothing less than what I expect of myself. So please, have faith in me, and in what we are training to accomplish. I know..." she brought her hand down in front of her, tightening it into a fist. "... We will bring home the Championships Gold!"

Eiji watched the girls as they gathered around Kagome, all of them jumping excitedly and hugging one another. He sighed before moving to walk away. A hand stopped him, arms wrapping around his waist from behind. He smiled softly and turned back to Kagome, who was looking up into his eyes while the rest of the girls were distracted with the medals they were getting.

"You wanted to talk?"

"Mm, yes... let's go somewhere else."

"Right, I'll grab my bag!"

Eiji watched her run off and grinned giddily, 'She's so happy right now, nyan~!'
