My AU retelling of ME1 in a darker, sinister universe. Much darker and more realistic views of the SA and the Citadel Council, a more dangerous, involved Cerberus, and a more conflicted Saren and Benezia. In 2157 PD, A Turian patrol attacked a newly discovered race for attempting to activate a prime relay. Unfortunately, the race in question had been in space nearly as long as the Asari have. Unlike the Asari, this wasn't a race of diplomats. This race had a fleet far more vast than the combined citadel races, and the Turians managed to piss them off. Eventual Slash.

Centuries after the end of the Reaper War, a respected asari scientist and political leader tells the story of her youthful adventures with the legendary Shepard. Fighting to save the galaxy is one thing, but figuring out human motivations can be much harder. Science fiction, action-adventure, and a romance on slow burn.

The universe is saved, the Reapers are leaving, and the galaxy is an emptier place for it. However the afterlife is not quite what Shepard expected. For one... it's full of Reapers. They are about to learn a lesson on organic emotion the VERY hard way.

It starts with a mug of hot chocolate. That in itself isn't unusual; the decadent Earth beverage is something Shepard has an odd fondness for, and he fixes it for Liara on occasion. But this one is different. He brings it to her in a red mug with a green conifer painted on the side, and there is a strange red and white striped hooked cane lolling around the rim like a straw.

On April 5, 2185, twelve year old Garrus Vakarian was pulled from a burning dreadnought by Colonel Urdnot Wrex of the TEC Ascension Corps.
