I so love this story and can't wait for you too get back to it. But I got a question about why Shea would need a male donor, when in canon it is possible and has been done with Miranda and her sister being created from one person's DNA.

Our society can do it even now, well not now since it is still in the research stage. But in 2008 British scientists have discovered a way to turn female bone marrow into sperm, allowing women to reproduce without the need of male companionship. All Shea would need to do is get the research from earth, then get it to a genetic specialist(High chance it's a Salarian) to perfect it.

Though all children born of this method would be female, due to the lack of the Y chromosomes, and there is high chance of birth defects. But this story take place in a SI-FI setting were designer babies(Mirandasister) are a thing, so defects would be a non-issue.

Eggs also can be created from male bone marrow, but men looking to reproduce would still need to find a surrogate mother to handle the gestation period.

If you do it this way then Shea wouldn't have to out live her kid, since all the DNA would be her's the child would in turn her longevity which she got. Also it would just be really sad. and that's it love the story and hope you get back to us soon :)

Wow you've been busy, glad to hear your not giving up on the story, I really like Shea and the family so dysfunctional it functions right. Since you've been gone I have been re-reading this on & off

and while I would like to say this is a great "beginning"

to mass effect it appears at-least to me that now it's going "away"

from the games into it's own world, alternate universe really with only mere mentions &

interactions with the MASS EFFECT side of things I KNOW this takes well over a century BEFORE

the trilogy but I think as one of your former followers you should compartmentalize or however you

say it and just make the next few chapter's into a brief intro to the games

(BEGINNING) (MIDDLE) (ENDING) if you will then straight into the primary reason you started this...mass effect

UNLESS you are willing to do a complete reboot of your story and start over...just saying

since...well...
