EnterGoodUsernameHere chapter 8 . 7/10 First of all, this story is great. Just a small mistake though, when you described the war games or practice battles conducted you stated that the power of the human sided vessels would be reduced by 40%, however to simulate facing an enemy that is 40% stronger you actually would have to reduce the power of the human sided ships by around 29%. ProofThis can be calculated by dividing 1 by 1.4.714The power of the human shipwhich shows that a 40% stronger opponent (1.4) would equal 1 representing the normal power of a human ship ) |
flint02 chapter 61 . 6/15 Your idea for starting the story was very good. It is in the ME universe and we know many of the characters but you changed so many things that it's always exciting to see whats happening. You are not just follwing the game like many other Fanfics, this makes it special for me. It is the third time I'm reading this story and every time it was great. Last time it was stopping somewhere around here. I am happy to see so many new chapters. |
Sundanze chapter 65 . 5/2 So I do mostly like this story, Its very interesting to read the personal stuff with the characters and the bigger macro events. Also starting to warm up to Julia a lot :). My problem is though That I find the firefights to be poorly balanced, and that's mostly because I think you are making Barriers and armor way too tough for presumably reaper tech boosted forces. Also Krogan are tough and very strong, but they still go down with some continuous fire, especially if they are out in the open and have multiple people shooting at them. |
Darkcush chapter 91 . 4/18 Damn, I hate to see the words “my muse has come back” yet there is only 1 more chapter to go :( I can’t believe how fast I read this through. Great job on this, amazing shit |
Sundanze chapter 51 . 4/1 This is the second time I've tried reading this story, and tbh this chapter is where I start losing interest. What the hell is up with Jones? She is stronger than reaperfied Saren, She should die pretty much instantly against all those regardless of her upgrades, this should not be superhero stuff. I also find it kinda sad that I feel like Julia is experiencing some kind of failure on every mission she is on. Also I don't really understand the mass effect driver thing. |
mynonsensemail chapter 47 . 2/13 I'm surprised at a couple of lax decisions here. First, that they didn't wear any any armor on Ilium, which is just "Omega with nice shoes on". Ilium is on the Terminus border and is just as dangerous a place as Omega. How many times in the games did Shepard get into unexpected gunfights in supposedly safe public places? All the time! Even if Julia can't wear her catsuit, she should be wearing armor outside and only wear casual clothes on the ship. Then, these Spectres and Spectre candidates all surrendered their weapons so easily. This is not an option for Shepard! Remember his line on the Purgatory prison ship: "I'll relinquish one bullet: where do you want it?" This attitude saved the squad's lives. Julia and co. can't afford to be vulnerable for one second outside of the Normandy. As Spectres, Desolus and Garrus don't have to follow laws, so they can claim authority and make everyone else deal with it. Julia is paranoid enough not to eat in public on the Citadel, so this is definitely out of character for her. Hope she's wiser in the future. |
mynonsensemail chapter 46 . 2/13 Dang, Julia is ruthless. I'm so glad she didn't kill Ashley pre-emptively. I've been wondering if Jack Harper was the only one sent back in time or if other characters are experiencing a New Game as well. Only Shepard, Anderson, and TIM were in the room with the Catalyst, so the time travel was probably limited to them; and now we know that Anderson didn't reincarnate, just had dreams of the real Shepard. Poor Julia; maybe with more love and affection from a more stable family household growing up, she may have been able to come closer to the ideal of Shepard as the inspiring hero. If only Greg Smith hadn't died on Shanxi! Wait - Hannah has had corrective surgery done - is it possible that she and Jack could have a baby together? |
mynonsensemail chapter 35 . 2/11 I'm glad that Julia and Miranda are both getting more maternal influences in their lives. After seeing how Jack's mother treated him, it's easier to understand his lack of compassion; but his daughters still need a loving warmth in their life. They just can't get it from him b/c he doesn't know how to give it. Hannah doesn't fully know how to give this either, but she's closer to being the nurturing feminine than Jack is. (Generally speaking, this is how men and women can complement each other and the while can be greater than the sum of its parts.) Despite the poor decision to drink their worries away, I think that Hannah can approximate the mother figure that Julia needs, and in the process get in better touch with her own feminine side. I think she'll find healing in helping heal Julia. It's interesting how we are all shaped by our parents' failings, however small or large. Hopefully we can learn from their mistakes and break the cycle so we are better for our own children. |
Ahmed Maged chapter 1 . 2/11 How someone who know the future and this smart fuck up this much? |
mynonsensemail chapter 32 . 2/10 Exciting turn of events! Just FYI, there's a confusing time-skip at the top here where it looks like the story jumps ahead 21 years (year 2190)... but then in the following section it returns to being only 1 year ahead of the previous chapter (year 2170). I think you meant 2170 for both sections. |
mynonsensemail chapter 27 . 2/10 Shocked and saddened to see so many things fall apart for Jack. Couldn't he have at least hugged & kissed his girls goodbye? They needed him to show some affection there; so sad that they parted on cold terms like that. Didn't he previously send Hannah files detailing Reaper Indoctrination? I think they were set to self-delete after a number of hours. How could she let herself get sucked in when she knew the warnings? Holy **** - is she going to function as Saren, helping Sovereign access the Conduit on Ilos? Oh man. This is going to be difficult to get out of. |
mynonsensemail chapter 24 . 2/10 Krogan Ninja Turtles is the funniest thing ever! What an amazing idea! |
mynonsensemail chapter 23 . 2/9 Yeah in ME1, I liked using Lift better than Singularity. Singularity got better in later games, but in ME1 it didn't really pull many enemies in. Whereas Lift was guaranteed to take an enemy out of combat regardless of their shields. Biotics were fun in that game! |
mynonsensemail chapter 20 . 2/8 "Hackett out." Haha you just had to! |
Dareth chapter 87 . 2/6 Estonia is a fake country, and doesn't exist. There is no way it would have survived as an independent nation so far into the future...amazing story otherwise... |
