There is no justification to declare total war on the Hegemony and indiscriminately kill the civilians the non-combatants and most Batarians are not slaves and are civilians. If one nation declares total war on an enemy that means that their own civilians would then be targets and that they don't differentiate between soldier and civilian and that all weapons of war can be utilized by either side so if the Hegemony was to bomb a Human colony from orbit then Humanity couldn't say it was a crime.

As I understand it soldiers are trained to shoot for center mass the torso not the head. Also why does everyone have to attack the Batarian Hegemony they aren't the only ones who have slaves there is the entire Terminus Systems and any independent colony is a potential buyer this also means that most slavers would be independent and not being paid to acquire slaves.

Humanity is to puffed up arrogant and overpowered most people prefer a Halo vs Covenant scenario where Humanity is about even with their opponent.

I'm getting the feeling that Edward Spokane, Jack Harper, and Christopher McGraw did not, in fact, outsmart the Reapers... but were instead tricked into full indoctrination. Spokane certainly seems to be debatable in his side, and he WAS functionally indoctrinated when he wrote his diary entries that led the other two to their little nap... which facilitated the absolute clusterfuck that is the current situation.
