   nattysuits chapter 2 . 7/22 Aethyta's dialogue throughout the story is very unique. I've enjoyed her a lot which says a lot considering I never gave her much thought for some reason. I loved how she got pissed at Liara for not telling her about Benezia but then thought more about it and cooled her jets a bit. It was a very neat thought process there. This part here: - Oh. Crap. That little detail hadn't been in the official report, or the unofficial one either. She knew from personal experience that losing your parents at such a young age could fuck you up pretty good for a few decades, but shooting, killing, your own mother - it was the kind of thing that could scar you for life. A little bit of her anger towards the girl drained away. - Liara in this story has such a nice mixture of experience that borders on being jaded, guarded hope and barely contained anxiety over Shepard (I'm talking about that scene when Samara asks about Shepard, that scene stayed with me). Breaks my heart. |
| nattysuits chapter 1 . 7/22 I'm around chapter 15 really. I read usually when I'm in bed (horizontally) so I don't review then. I'm gonna leave my thoughts on many reviews just because I remember I liked to see numbers go up. I've been seeking out stories about post ME3 for a while. It's fascinating to me how writers iterate on how things end. (I have my own WIP on the subject.) After having read a lot of them, I have concluded that if the writer likes asari or Liara, then Liara gets to be an understated badass post-ME3. If Liara is on the periphery then she's like Liara from ME3, she's stuck there. Which is a shame. I think writers like you have it right, you craft the most interesting version of that character taking into account just how fast Liara grows up between games. |
