He isn't really acting like a astartes in this chapter even if he is one of the more logical ones. Specifically two small parts, the first when he is commenting on their cruelty to "aliens" - astartes wouldn't give a $hit about Xenos so it doesn't really make sense to criticize them on that (maybe on their cruelty in general, but not in regards towards their actions on xenos) and the second is when he says "Aye". Maybe I'm just a newbie, but Astartes generally seemed to sound more posh and would have said something like "Indeed" - small thing, but the devil (or daemon) is in the details. Overall, looking good so far!

The use of stakes is obvious, but a very important detail nonetheless. Glad to see someone included it in an infantry vs cavalry fight for once!

Avarians speeches are pretty long, and some of the middle parts do drag on a little, but overall his speeches have been excellent, and it reflects on you very positively.

Such a fucking shame this stories more dead then my dad.

Alright Avarian. If you have any brains, you're going to leverage your ranged attacks against the undead, hold a good part of the line with spearmen, and personally deal with anything that can quickly punch through, but still keep a line in reserve to deal with anything that DOES threaten to split the line in half.

Or employ an otherwise effective tactic.

Well... We lost chapter we saw Avarian flip from restrained astartes, to raging xenophobe, to... Respect for the "xeno". Quite a range of beliefs to be had in a matter of minutes.

I... Don't know how to feel about this. On the one hand, most of everything's been building up to him cooperating with the different races, on the over hand his change in attitude feels a little abrupt.

I think it works overall, anyhow.

I plan for this story to be 150-200 chapters long
