Author has written 1 story for Song of the Lioness. You may call me Linya... or anything else that suits your fancy. I'm 20 college third year studying psychology female. and addicted to fanfiction. I'm here to read, and I've been here a long time. I first discovered fanfiction as a 12-year-old Tamora Pierce fanatic. I rediscovered it as a 14-year-old Naruto fan, and haven't left since the disappointment that was the ending of the Harry Potter series (admittedly DH did have some good points, but Rowling killed off Snape, Fred, and a lot of other good characters for no good reason). My main fandoms are Harry Potter and Naruto. I try to avoid slash and overly smutty stories, but sometimes they make their way onto my favorite list as background to an otherwise wonderful story. My favorite HP pairing is Severus Snape/Hermione Granger (I'm trying to remember why I began supporting them, and I think it has something to do with the author duj and the fic A Walking Shadow). I also appreciate canonical pairings and am rather fond of Luna. Recently I've rather appreciated fics without romance in them more. I especially love time travel fics, and AUs that remain in the same general universe as cannon. Naruto: I am no longer sure I have a favorite pairing, I've read so many different ones. Sakura and Kakashi are my favorite characters. Naruto is a close second. Others come and go depending on what fanfics I've been reading recently. Generally Shikamaru and Itachi are in third. Pairings I generally support: ItaSaku, KakaSaku (probably my OTP), SasuSaku, DeiSaku (so sad Vessel got deleted! it was the best), SasuHina, ShinoTen, ...and honestly anything that's well enough written to convince me it's feasible. Feel free to attempt to convert me to new couples. And I absolutely love team 7 fluff. I love all the characters, and hate bashing. A good writer doesn't need to bash a character they don't like to make the main character look good. Two years ago, I developed a love of Labyrinth fanfiction. Who'd have guessed? that movie gave me nightmares as a child. I delved into Star Wars fanfiction after reading Karen Travis' Clone Commando series; that led me into Rurouni Kenshin fics after reading an amazing cross-over. Shadows in Starlight by Vathara. Go read. I followed that up last Spring with a dive into InuYasha fics. I've only read a few chapters of the manga and seen maybe 20 episodes of the anime about 5 years ago. I know more about the series through the fanfiction than from cannon. It's still fun. I also have read a few Death Note stories. Thank you Silver Pard. I stopped reading that manga after L died. I now have a clue as to the rest of the series. This past year led to me reading almost every non-slash FinalFantasy 7 fic I could get my hands on. I've also finally played the games. I'm a huge CloTi shipper. I also started reading Doctor Who fanfiction after starting to watch the show again. Recent episodes have disappointed me, but I'll always love the Doctor (and Rose). Reading Jessa L'Rynn's fics have really affected my view of the series. She's a pretty amazing writer. I've also been dabbling in other fandoms looking for good stories. I've really been expanding my horizons, or something similarly cheesey. Anyone who might be interested in why I only have one unfinished fanfic posted is because I started writing Strangerchild when I was twelve, and then got mad at myself for not being able to write it correctly. Later I realized that inability stemmed from the fact I had not yet had the experiences necessary to write the characters' emotions in a comprehensive and believable manner, and the story was too serious to disregard those important elements. However, it's sentimental so I don't feel like deleting it. That and I keep telling myself I'm going to start writing again someday. So it also acts as a reminder. |
