IF YOU SEE MY STORIES PUBLISHED IN ANY FORM ON ANY WEBSITE OTHER THAN FF, THAN SOMEONE HAS STOLEN IT! PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I ONLY PUBLISH ON FF.

Recently a kind reader brought to my attention that one of my stories was posted under a different title and someone else's profile on Wattpad. (Thank you kind reader). When I searched, I found this individual had stolen at least three other stories from other authors. The matter is currently being dealt with.

On to other matters.

I appreciate that many of you enjoy my stories so much that you want to make them available in other languages. But if you want to translate any of my stories into another language, my answer is no.

Because it is a frequent request, I have given it very detailed consideration so please know that my decision on this is not a passing fancy nor a slight on anyone who is not able to read English.

I do NOT allow my work to be translated. My writing (be it fanfiction or original) is a direct representation of my skill and reputation as a writer which is something I worked hard to cultivate and will entrust to no one. I am also a student of language and understand well that the meanings of things change from one language to the next. Phrases in English do not translate directly into other languages nor they into English. As such, much of the deeper meaning of the story can be lost unless the original writer (who knows exactly what meaning of dialogue and scene is meant to be conveyed) is the one who translates it. If you’ve read my stories more than a few times, you will find there are many details and word plays that can easily be lost in translation even if I myself did the translation. The integrity of the story would be lost and that is not acceptable to me.

I know there is a larger archive of fanfiction available in English, but I too have found that despite this, there are very few well written stories to be found. This is, in fact, the reason I started writing fanfiction in the first place. Because there were so few stories available that met my personal standards for leisure reading, I wrote one. My suggestion for a similar problem in any other language archive would be the same.
