Author has written 34 stories for Alex Rider, Lord of the Rings, Twilight, Tokyo Mew Mew, Avatar, Hetalia - Axis Powers, Avatar: Last Airbender, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Legend of Korra. Good evening. You may call me True. I am a twenty-one-year-old Englishwoman, studying history and Russian at an undisclosed location. I am not terribly active on here at the moment, but still try to keep up with PMs and reviews. You can find me floating around occasionally as TrueColours on ArchiveOfOurOwn and as Trueishcolours on Tumblr, and find other stories co-written by me on the profiles of KaleidoscopeKreation, Victoria Bells and The Feral Candy Cane. My Favourite Quotes 'Come on, it's an adventure, it's good for you.' Bill, Mamma Mia 'The world hates you, life is futile, and we're all going to die. The trick is to remain in denial for as long as possible.' Me 'Why put off till tomorrow what you can avoid doing all together?' Georgia Nicholson by Louise Rennison 'Sometimes you gotta create what you want to be a part of.' Geri Weitzman 'I was so afraid/ now I realise/ love is never wrong/ and so it never dies.' 'Love Will Find a Way', The Lion King II 'I despise guessing games.' Scar, The Lion King 'Show class, have pride and display character. If you do winning takes care of itself.' Coach Paul ''Bear'' Bryant. 'The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what Fiction means.' Miss Prism, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde 'I anaesthetised myself against the big bad world with large doses of literature.' Hilary McKay 'I'm on Aslan's side even if there's no Aslan to lead it.' Puddleglum, The Silver Chair by C.S Lewis 'The Dead of Midnight is the Noon of thought.' All too true for us insomniacs. From Burnup77's profile 'Bullies are like the common cold: same old symptoms every time, just different enough that you can't fight them off, and never serious enough to warrant treatment.' Me 'Something rather interesting happened last night. I slit my throat and my head fell off. Have you seen it anywhere?' Georgia Nicholson 'Don't poke logic-shaped holes in my reasoning!' Silverwolf 'And don't worry about form, it will come later!' Miss Amelia Gabble, The Aristocats 'Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime, enlighten him further and he opens a chain of seafood restaurants.' Anon And the ultimate for Fanfiction users: 'The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.' Two words that no-one should have to live without: Pedant:A person who is unnecessarily annoyingly accurate, eg. Bella: So that's it. You won't sleep with me until we're married. Edward: Technically I can't ever sleep with you, Bella. (Note: Vampires cannot sleep) In this scene, Edward is being pedantic. Tautology: When the same thing is said twice, eg. Bella: Your skin is pale white and ice cold. As white is pale by definition, the phrase pale white is a tautology. Books which no-one should have to live without: The Casson series by Hilary McKay. If you don't like Saffy's Angel (book no. 1), skip to Caddy Ever After. This series is one of those rare ones that improve with age. Pure genius masquerading as light humor: The Hiccup Horrendous Haddock series, beginning with How to Train Your Dragon. The story of an unlikely Viking hero and his disobedient dragon. It was a Dark and Stormy Night. Absolutely fantastic hilarious picture book. Books which have woven themselves inextricably into my consciousness: Alex Rider and Lord of the Rings. Both obsessions have got to the point where they can exist independantly of the books. Tragic, I know. The greatest novel I have ever read: Watership Down. It is a 500 page novel...about rabbits. A gripping, original, moving adventure...about rabbits. The guy's a genius. The randomest film I like: The Bionicals Trilogy (there is just something about a Lego figure saying: 'Compassion was always your weakness, brotherrrr.' And The Buzz Lightyear Movie. Seriously, go watch. Experiences everyone should have: Singing a really fantastic piece of music, eg Zadoc the Priest or Old Hundredth, with a huge group of enthusiastic people. Singing is our natural state. We English are sad, restrained beings. |
