That was…oh my god. I think it was more gut-wrenching that it happened so quickly and with so little fanfare. And the reactions of the crew were just spot on. Of course Sanji would be the one to carry her, and of course it would kill him that he couldn't protect her when she was standing right next to him when it happened.

Well, this is interesting. I like the idea of astral combat, but I do wonder how their minds will affect the contest. No matter what the old woman says, the power of the mind has to have some impact on astral combat just like the state of the body impacts physical combat no matter how strong the mind.

I must say that everyone seems very in character. This takes place before Water 7, but I like how you remembered to have Robin fudge her profession for reasons the Straw Hats wouldn't understand.

i finally finished this. dang, what a ride. honestly, i skipped some of the narration since dialogues are what i prefer. good to see them not being OOC even in the slightest. liked this, probably will give nightmares tonight, but i liked this. great job!

This was great. I thought the deaths you gave everyone were appropriate in that they either a) were necessary for the story/tone (Nami's) b) showcased their best qualities/roles on the crew (Zoro's). And Luffy took care of everyone, just like he always does.

Your writing for this series reminds me of Star Trek. Each island is its own universe and it's all just, very episodic world-building, and you're so good at it. I'm excited to read more.

I was wondering why Robin didn't kill Tazan from a distance if she decided the enemy shouldn't escape, although if for info gathering then that's a Robin move. She would think that though? The thoughts don't match the actions...
