Time travel for the win

Though, of course, Danzo and Itachi had a conversation where they discussed the facts and the possible alternatives, namely that either they tried to slaughter their way to the top and were all killed before being able to become the village's tyrants, starting a civil war and a world war in the process, or Itachi kept his brother alive and save their country from tyranny and civil war, and saves the world another global conflict (which the Hyuga's clan head was willing to die to avoid, even when he was in the right, and that, and that the Uchia, with no sense of proportions, considered a price worth paying to satisfy their delusional, overinflated, swollen, bruised egos. Itachi made a choice, the fact that his choices weren't looking too good is something he can thank his family for, though, of course, delusional self importance didn't allow them to escape the consequences of their actions in that instance -you shouldn't take up a sword if you aren't willing to accept the possibility that the one you were planning to kill would cut you down instead... then you would be left with no room to complain, not to mention the ironic twist that the military police clan committed suicide by cop-.

It should be pointed out that when Sasuke revived the Hokages, Sarutobi claimed that he had been the one ordering Itachi to intervene and save their village from civil war and tyrannical rule (by definition, since by their own admission the populace didn't trust or like them, and didn't want to be ruled by them, presumably being even less inclined after being slaughtered and subjugated).

That's not even mentioning the fact the natural born insanity and sociopaty that was part of the family, though Itachi and Shisui seemed sane enough, and certainly if the clan head's wife was best friends forever with the Hokage's wife, I wouldn't exactly say that they were being put in the same position as, say, Sparta's Ilotes.

This is a personal opinion, but I don't really think that authors should feel the need to address the way the canon plot diverged and keep things consistent (half the time, canon isn't even consistent with itself). A simple AU in the description would be all that was needed to "address" Kishimoto's rape of Obito's characterization (in other words, there goes the only Uchia that was not an asshole -consider that the next best things would be Itachi, that murdered his clan, and Shisui, who wanted to essentially mentally enslave them when they decided that having complete, exclusive control over the police corps wasn't enough of a stroke for their egos -setting for the moment aside the fact that if you actually hare a power-hungry, untrustworthy backstabber that would risk a world war to stage a coup, you can't really complain that people weren't trusting you enough... they were trusting you exactly the right amount, probably too much, since even having someone that reacts to some not unfounded mistrust and not getting absolute power with a coup as head of the police force is already more clout that anyone sane would have given them-).

Super cool idea! Loved the whole "boy who kept tossing her scrolls on medical jutsu". _ Fantastic idea and I think you've done a great job with it.
