Reviews for The Fifth Act
DarkFayt chapter 38 . 7/19
Ok, you did it. You ending this fic awesome. I still consider the Hojo lab arc as filler but I wish there were one shots of cloud helping the others. Thank you for writing this.
DarkFayt chapter 32 . 7/18
To be honest before this chapter I had started to just skim the Lab scenes only stopping to read the dialog sections to see if anything meaningful happened. Then I get to this chapter to get this bad ass scene of cloud punching out of the tube and making a daring escape...then to get tranc'ed...fuck I'm starting to hate your fic. It's slowed to a crawl and is honestly not a fun read anymore and there is so little left I can't see it recovering but I will see this to the end.
DarkFayt chapter 29 . 7/18
Ok I have enjoyed this fic so far but the "Cloud get Captured" filler arc is wearing thin. I hope it ends next chapter because I can't see 9 more chapters of this.
Manty9 chapter 38 . 7/11
Anyone that has not read the fic, please don't read my review. Spoilers ahead.

So how should I put it. This is probably the best fic I've ever read. I came here because of the Remake, and I find it very curious how despite having been written 10 years ago some concepts remain fresh, like the constant theme of changing fate. At first, I was weary of the time travel aspect of it. I usually don't like those, and The Curse Child traumatized me to the genre, but damn is this one well done!

I love the humour! I love how Cloud keeps checking his back for wings, and how everyone later on thinks someone cast Mini on him. xD I love how game mechanics work so well in this narrative! I was surprised that inserting expressions like "status spells" and "we're out of ethers" worked so well. I also love how faithful the characters are to the original, and all the twists in the plot. It's obvious that a lot of thought and planing went into this. I did not see the twist in the reactor coming. xD

To the author, even though I'm a bit late to the party, very well done! Congratulations! This is better than some books I've read, and I'll be checking out some of your other works later. ) If you do have some books published let me know as well.
jtscores chapter 38 . 6/7
This was a great ending to a great story. I'm glad I could read your writing :)
jtscores chapter 17 . 6/5
I am so here for Genesis and Cloud talking about LOVELESS
kapert chapter 34 . 6/2
WTF is Zack doing asking kid Cloud to join SOLDIER? The program where people in get slow cell degradation in exchange for power. Where people like Hojo can ruin your life at any moment. Where you just spend your time protecting corporate interests. Not cool, Zack.
dustinpuffer chapter 38 . 5/13

Wow this was an excellent read! Thank you for sharing. Each character was complex and interesting.
Diaspared chapter 38 . 4/30
I think that Cloud's imprisonment went on a bit too long for my liking, but I absolutely LOVED the role reversal in the reactor.

I'm such a sucker for "hero becomes the greatest bad guy of all" things, heh.

This story was absurdly good. Thank you, sincerely, for writing it.

Rin-Gildy chapter 38 . 4/28
This story is just so incredible. I can't even begin to imagine the sheer amount of planning, detail and dedication it must have taken to complete. The characters are beautifully portrayed, and the writing is very engaging. This one's going in the reread pile.
MommaScout chapter 38 . 4/28
I read this back when it was first published (I was a recent college graduate with nothing better to do between jobs), and almost ten years and the Remake later, fanfics like this are one reason I adore the FFVII universe so (since 1997)! The Shakespearean poetry, drama, and tragedy is unlike any other game in history, and the link between the hero and villain is so blurred, a simple act of kindness is all it could take to completely change everything. Cloud has the same capability of becoming the monster as Sephiroth, and Sephiroth is just as human, vulnerable, and caring as any other character in the story, so like Cloud that the saying 'in another universe, we could have been friends' takes on a whole new meaning. For all the younger, new-comers to the world of FFVII...welcome! When reading deep, well thought out fanfics like this, realize that sometimes the line between hero and villain, good buy and bad guy are not as solid as you may believe. Without giving away any spoilers to those who have not played either the original or remake game...look past the spectacle of graphics (or lack there-of), and read the very real human story in each character. In the materia-less, magic-less, mako-less world we live in, are Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Sephiroth, Vincent, and all the others really any different than any of us common folk? Philosophical, I know, and wordy, but the parallels one could draw from our world and the world of FFVII become clear. That is why it is often touted as the greatest RPG ever made, ranked high among the video game industry as the standard by which most, if not all, fantasy games are measured. Humans are attracted to things that ring with the truth of our own existence, and a fanfic like this is just another example of such parallels! Thanks again, Sinnatious, for this fic. Glad it has remained the standard on this site for FFVII fanfics!
Blarghal chapter 38 . 4/25
I honestly did not expect to be laughing nearly as much as I was during this final chapter. Absolutely outstanding work. You truly have a magnificent talent for writing. This was absolutely spectacular and I am so blown away by it. I have a feeling I'll be re-reading this story for a long time to come. 3
Blarghal chapter 37 . 4/25
