Announcement:

I apologize for the long time since I published my first chapter. I've been working on getting my life together, but that's really no excuse.

First of all, my father died last year from cancer, and having spent half a year taking care of him (and my grandmother, who had her own problems) left me with no time for anything else. His death led to me being essentially homeless for a few weeks, at least until I got all of my worldly possessions moved to my mother's house so I could have a place to stay. Not to mention, I was unemployed for the duration of my father's cancer treatment, and trying to find a new job had consumed even more time.

Now, I've mostly settled in, and I have a job as a substitute teacher. The schedule is erratic, and I only have a couple of days warning on average. This also cuts into time that could be spent writing, but I'm making money again, so that takes priority for now.

When I am able to return to writing more consistently, IlI' add to this announcement with details on the next update.

Greetings, all. My name is Vaust Mortifera as you can see up in the corner of the screen, or wherever it is they keep that information. It seems to change every so often, or that could just be me.

Dislikes: Oh, dear. How about I just say people. Seriously, whenever I directly interact with people that I'm not related to or that I'm not tutoring, they piss me off. It's actually why I listen to music so much, it drowns out the obnoxious voices of those around me. It seems that the only people I can get along with are those over the age 40 or those below the age of 15. My god, my generation is screwed, and I mean that literally and figuratively. Every which way I turn, my generation is either dropping the ball, or unable to pick up the ball that the previous generation dropped because they neglected to inform us it was filled with matter from a neutron star. I could soapbox here all day, but I don't think that'll be a good idea. I'll leave that to my stories, professional or otherwise.

Hobbies: Writing, of course. I like to read, too, and for good reason. Listening to jazz is a hobby, I suppose. I'd like to learn to play the sax, but my patience has never been long enough for me to stick any kind of instrument out. I've tried piano once, but I got bored. Guitar also fell through, although I did learn a couple of songs (that I have since forgot). Indeed, the only thing I seem to keep at is writing and tutoring math. And so far, I don't actually get paid for either. I'll let people know when I do. I also hobby with creating games. Right now, I'm working on a Pokemon fangame made with RPG Maker XP.

One hobby I don't have is a girlfriend. I lean towards the asexual/sapiosexual side of the spectrum. I've got no real interest in anyone unless they are intelligent, although men do nothing for me. As such, I'll not be writing slash (Nor femslash, no matter how hot and bothered it makes me. I'm a bit of a voyeur in that regard.) unless it is canon to the source material. I do want to keep characterizations close to source unless deviations are needed.

I'm a bit of an "old soul," I guess you can say. One of my friends used that to describe me, and I'll take it. I have a hard time making friends, mostly because I can't be bothered to strike up a conversation. If someone starts talking to me, I'll do my best to keep it going, but the moment it moves into small talk, I'm done. I can't do it. My mind disengages and begins to wander about the many levels of distraction that I have created to populate the worlds I use for any stories I write. I dislike most things that my generation has created in regards to music and entertainment, although Dubstep is pretty damn good, I'll admit. Honestly, despite being a 90's kid, I hate 90's kids. They suck. And it seems that I'm soapboxing anyway, so whatever.

Projects: I'll post first chapters of my stories when they are finished, but further chapters will wait until the entire story is complete. The first chapter is merely to determine if there is interest in the story. If not, then that project will be shelved for a period.
Also, please note that none of my stories go through a Beta. I write the chapter, do a round of edits, let it sit for a couple of days, do another round of edits, then it is ready for posting. That means that some errors will get through since there is only one pair of eyes going over the words before it is released for general consumption. If you find anything, let me know, and I'll do my best to fix things in a timely manner.

Harry Potter/Final Fantasy X Crossover
Harry Potter: The Master in Spira
Inspired by Cycle of Sin by Quatermass
Master of Death Harry is transported into Spira by wild magic. There, he finds the Al Bhed and is cautiously welcomed into their Home. He soon learns about Sin and the Pilgrimage, and swears to help the Al Bhed put a stop to it.
Features a Harry that is more intelligent and powerful than canon due to an obvious AU divergence in the Harry Potter storyline before Book 1: Harry actually pays attention in primary, gets good grades, and the worst the Dursleys do is ignore him. As such, Harry and Hermione regularly compete for Top Spot. With Harry being a better student, he also studies ahead, making full use of his time after the events of Second Year and the basilisk. Other AU elements will be detailed as necessary in story.
Will be a Harry/Rikku pairing, with the obvious Tidus/Yuna pairing included for canon-ness.

Harry Potter/Dungeons & Dragons Crossover

Loosely inspired by Chapter 133 of Odd Ideas by Rorschach's Blot
Harry Potter falls through a wild magic portal into Neverwinter at a young age. He is taken in by Nasher Alagondar and raised as his son. Fifty-nine years later, he's the Commander of a powerful Mercenary Company called the Swords of Winter. His actions have changed Faerûn, and not obviously for the better. However, a stranger from his past arrives looking for him. How will Magical Britain handle a Boy-Who-Lived that has decades of experience fighting wars and skirmishes? And how will they handle his friends who he demands be allowed to join him?
Features a Harry that is a Paladin/Sorcerer Gestalt. For those that don't know, it's an optional rule for D&D 3.5e where you pick two classes, and combine them into one, keeping the best Saving Throws, Hit Die, etc. Of course, by being a more powerful class, there is a penalty in having to start at one or two levels below the rest of the party, depending on the DM. Indeed, several optional rules will be making their way into the story, as well as personal "house" rules. Don't worry, there will be no dice throwing or anything in-story. That shit will happen off-screen, by me, and only if it will make the scene more dramatic. 'Cause I like my drama in my D&D.

Harry Potter is an immortal Admiral in Starfleet, heading the Tenth Defense Fleet, and is renowned across the Quadrant as a brilliant scientist and engineer. When his granddaughter is put in danger during her Training Cruise, he takes notice, and begins calling in favors he's collected from nearly every species in the galaxy, including the Q. Will follow the general story-line of Star Trek Online up through the Iconian War, with Captains from each faction appearing.
