I had a thought occur to me, based on that "materia keeping the Highwind aloft" line. maybe it's a combination of an Aero materia, and a Gravity materia. If those two were fused in some way, or had their properties combined, then the Airship could probably stay aloft, even with the supposedly slow moving propellers. I get the feeling those were just a product of the age the game came out in, though, since the console wouldn't be able to process movement alongside a model with perpetually moving parts like the airship has.

This is also amazing timing. I started rereading this around the time when Square showcased FFXVI for PS5. I'm looking forward to playing that. though I do wish that Square would re-release some of their older games on newer consoles, like FFTA and FFTA2. Have you seen that trailer yet? If you have, what did you think? I personally need to re-watch it, as I was eating cereal when I put it on. Anyways, back to the grind I go.

Honestly, Jenova basically being a walking, talking Enemy Skills Materia is the kind of thing that fits her. It also increases her threat level considerably, making it clear why she was considered a living calamity. You can use an attack on her. Once. And after that, there is a good chance that she either will become immune to it, or she will repurpose it for her own ends, showing her adaptability.

Reading this again, as this story is what introduced me to you, my good man. Also, just played through Final Fantasy VII Remake and found it awesome. They didn't try to copy the original, though the plot followed that direction, more or less.

And Aerith is quite snarky at times there, with plenty of sass to throw around. This is a young woman who has grown up in Midgar's slums and is still the nice girl we all know and love. She is also capable of sass and is more than willing to fight if she needs to.

i always liked Genesis, he was an amazing character in Crisis Core, which i still have a copy of AND still have my PSP, and his cameo in the hidden ending of Dirge of Cerberus was fantastic. but i always felt there was more to him. it's why i always intended to have the main character of a fic, Either Harry potter or Naruto depending on my mood, be modeled as a kind of successor to Genesis.

i have had this idea in my head for a long time, and it is a project i continuously tinker with now and again. and i am getting close to a finished concept, but i am still not quite there yet.

to be honest my core concept is (on the surface) not that different from your fic "Vert the Emerald". my goal is to try and tie together as much of the various elements of the FF7 Compilation as i can. i always wanted to approach Genesis as more of an Anti-hero, and less of the villain he became in Crisis Core. Sephiroth is still very much the villain.

although, your portrayal of Jenova here has opened up an interesting new angle to approach the fic from. and i would very much like to message you about that at some point to discuss it. the reason being so that i can approach the idea in such a way as to not be seen as simply copying you.

Final Fantasy 7 set the standard for Role Playing in my opinion but the world that Harry is going is more harsh than his own, and possibly on the edge of dying.

The annotations are entirely unnecessary, jsyk. Anyone seeking out a crossover of HP and FFVII know at least the basics, and Google exists for a reason. To be completely honest, they are annoying and interrupt the story. Whereas it looks like I will enjoy the plot, annotations belong in non-fiction works ONLY

What an incredible story! This is my favorite crossover so far. There's just so much detail and action. I love what you've done with Jenova. That was definitely unexpected.

I'm so glad you decided not to bash anyone. I think you've achieved a perfect balance with Dumbledore's character. Not a perfect saint, but not as callous and manipulative as many people make him out to be in other fanfics. Way too many authors ruin a perfectly good story with character bashing these days.

I'm going to be honest.
I don't like the Harry Potter books and movies ( way to many plot holes for me )
But this was a brilliant and creative story.

This will always be my pet peeve why does Harry have to be friends with Ron and Hermione lacks fun I dislike both their chars Harry is gonna be different here and Hermione and Ron just idk I've never liked them hell I dislike canon Harry also such a pathetic hero but I'm more on like no Ron or hermi maybe Daphne and idk Blaise or something why it's always those two Gryffindor dorks is beyond me

"Story of Rufus" published in Ultimania tell of how he got out of the building during the diamond attack and subsequently got his geostigma infection. A chute under the president desk that goes to a hidden room near the infamous fifty floors stairwell, his father had it build from ten years old Rufus desing and only the Shinra father and son know of it. In the safe room there is a poster reading "cowardly loser". Because the chute was not safe for human use and broke his legs he later goes to a doctor who's treating people in a cave and get geostigma from them when the cave floods.
