Draco’s punishment is to be locked in his dorm room for a week, after torturing multiple students?

This story is well written. But teenage Harry and Co. spent so much time looking for proof. They are not Aurors. It’s incredibly frustrating in AU and canon where they sit back and just absorb the damage. Ditto with Dumbledore’s constant mistakes, constant apologies and constant forgiveness being granted.

That frustration is not the author’s fault though. It’s rooted in canon. This is an excellent story.

My opinion of Snape and Dumbeldore has dropped considerably (not that it was all that high to begin with). They know Umbridge is torturing Harry and they’re doing nothing? Why not send him out of the country? Homeschool him? Do any number of things to protect a child, which is exactly what Harry is?

I dislike this version of Harry. He screams at everyone and insists that people do things his way, such as saying Voldemort instead of You Know Who. Let people make their own decisions.

Overall, this is a great story. I don’t mean for a first try. I simply mean it is a fantastic story so far. You really did a great job on this.

She might have felt she had been sorted in the wrong house, but from the nature of both letters it is obvious why she isn’t a Gryffindor. Of course, if she had been a Hufflepuff or Raven Claw then talking to Harry would have been less of an issue. So far, I would put her correct house to be Raven Claw. Being near the top of her class shows she had brains and the fact that she is making herself a mystery to Harry, will no doubt tantalize him in all the right ways. Ending his own letter with ‘waiting to hear from you’ proves my point.

The comment about Harry smiled thinking the fence was more for the neighbor’s benefit really made me laugh. But I see his point, if I were their neighbor, I would not want to see them potentially in the buff. I also can’t help wondering if Harry’s wood working skill will find a way of being a useful skill later in the story for the wizard world too? Maybe?

It is sad to see Harry suffering from excessive heat, malnutrition and being overworked. I would bet his self-taught wand movements will have taught him more than the entire semester of Dolores Umbridge’s class.

Sprung! Interesting choice of words indeed. That is the word for getting out of jail. Life at the Dursley’s isn’t that different from prison, I am sure. Prison would probably be an improvement, at least in most civilized countries.

If Harry leaves his house and goes to a secret location, I am wondering if the owls will know where to go to deliver Harry’s mail. I hope Harry leaving his home on Privet Drive doesn’t stop him from getting letters from his secret friend. In a world of magic, I doubt it would.

I can understand why his secret friend didn’t send Harry a gift. Although, if one of her relatives was friends with the Potter’s back in the day, I couldn’t help thinking some personal pictures of his parents would have been a nice idea for that, which probably would have meant a lot to Harry, but not necessary.

Again, great story. Very nicely done.
