Author has written 18 stories for Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Kuroko no Basuke/黒子のバスケ, D.Gray-Man, Rise of the Guardians, Natsume Yūjin-Chō, and How to Train Your Dragon. Update: 12/18/2017 So, I've rewritten Regret Comes Later... into a new version. At first (before I decided to rewrite it) I planned on ending it in just less than 20 chapters... but with the new revision, it might end up a bit longer because I'm planning write it after their 3rd Middle school year. The problem I have with this fic is that I need a lot of patience, which I don't really have. I don't think I'll be able to update once a week with 3k each chapter now with the arrival of my college books that I need to study. Ugh, college... Also, don't hesitate to PM me or talk with me, I can be your brainstorming partner if you want to, or simple chat or anything. I don't mind and I really like it when people didn't hesitate to PM :). Oh, and by the way, if you spot any grammar mistakes or typo or plot-holes, don't hold back on the review or PM. I will fix it as soon as I had the time. Just don't flame, constructive criticism is all welcomed. Thank you! Hi! Jazebeth here, though it's probably obvious... but I should make some sort of introduction? Eh, you can call me as my pen name, that's the reason for pen names right? As you probably guessed, I'm a girl. I love reading tons and tons of fanfiction archive. I simply love my fandom so much XD. I'm also absorbed in an old hobby of mine... Playing MMORPG with tons of characters and wasting my time on grinding them to be perfect/powerful. Also, English is not my mother tongue, you could probably guess with my off sounding grammar - if you came from my story or review - but I'll try to make it as readable/understandable as I can. If you find any grammar mistake/typo, please kindly inform me. I would try my best to correct it. I'm also concentrating on Translation in English Literature course in my current college. (The irony of my writing skill is not lost by this statement) Oh, sorry for going off trail XD I have a habit of not paying attention, and you can guess where it lead now. Current fandom I'm currently in are: Katekyo Hitman Reborn! I really love this fandom. This is the first time I stuck in a fandom longer than 2 years (it's been 4 years and I'm still pretty much in love with this series). Reason why I stayed is because of the vast theme you can apply here. Lack of background - or a really vague background - and plotholes in the original series might be why there's so much to explore, the possibility is simply breathtaking. I mean 95% of the character has no background. For instance; Who are Iemitsu's parents? How is Nana so oblivious? Who are Kyoya's parents? His relationship with Fon? And so on... I'm planning to stay in this fandom as long as I want to. D.Gray-Man I fell in love with this series because of the depth of each character are simply a work of a genius (Hoshino really outdid herself). I like how every character has unique characteristic and personality. The dark undertone of this series is also remarkable. I have no words for this story. I rate it 9/10 (9 because the lack of update is killing everyone). As for other fandoms... I'm not as absorbed on them as I did the other two, but I'm really flexible by jumping from fandom to fandom to dig some hidden gems in the archives. Likes: People who are; Humble, critical, logical, patient. (Doesn't have to be everything). Dessert, any kind of sweets, pancakes, pineapples, pizza, french fries, and coffee. Never forget coffee. Dislikes: People who are; Manipulative, know-it-all, arrogant, people who guilt-trip. Selfishness, thieves, expensive jewelry (it's gonna get stolen .-.). Not everyone's perfect, but I dislike what I dislike. Pairing?: HiJack/FrostCup, older!BenneFrost, Jarida/Jackunzel, anything that make sense. Poker Pair, Laven. Pairings that I avoid like plague: Pedophilia... or relationship where one of the party is younger than 16 YO... I just can't. If it's just brotherly-love I'm fine with it but not the lemon part. Pairing where one party was humanoid animal... I'm no furry guys. Jelsa (for the love of Moon I don't see how they could be together... their personality clash!). YuuVi, Yuulen, Lucky. 1827 (I've come to dislike this pairing because of how OOC they were made). Hmm, what else... for now this is what I could think of. Pet-peeves: 1. OCs. I don't mind OC that are created for the sake of side character, or character that supports the Canon characters in anyway without overshadowing them! I don't mind OCs. For real. But when they're made to be too powerful, more powerful than the most powerful characters from the source material, I would kill myself. Or those that are too likeable (as in every canon character somehow, without logical reason explained, just head over heels in admiration/love with said OC). I consider Genderbend characters to be one of the OC. And also those "Oops! I reincarnated to be this character!" Yeah, what I mean are the Self Insert stories. Just for your relief if you're writing with this formula, I don't touch this kind of story no matter how popular it is. I don't mind OCs when they are created when there's not enough characters in a story (Blood-C, Mekakucity Actors, Junjou Romantica, Drammatical Murderer, etc.) to be fitted into a role, but when it's fandom with floods of characters (Katekyou Hitman Reborn, Naruto, Code Geass, Durarara!!, etc. This is entirely my opinion. And like I said, I won't flame people for this or even click this kind of story. The only correction I would give people is that when there's typo or grammar mistake, and subject that I'm confident I have knowledge of. Other than that, I have none. 2. This shouldn't be included in the list, but here it is anyways. Sudden influx of stories that uses hackers as their base main character. Normally I wouldn't mind this as long as it's not heavily focused on this, but dear god were people loved writing about them. This isn't the part that made it to my pet-peeve list, but the lack of research about them is what makes me cringe and slam my head on the table. Look, I have no personal vendetta against people who write them, nor am I against them, nor am I flaming their idea. No. That's not the point I'm trying to take, but the fact that people treat hackers like someone who wore sky mask and were typing furiously with a lot of programming codes and windows opened is what make me cringe. I would just say I know several people (who has ranted about this topic to me several times) in real life that are able to do this, and they're not someone TV or movies makes them to be. Sure, there are ones that got caught by the police (these are mostly black hats - again, I never saw one fic where they mention types of hackers... or crackers. People just assume they're all the same), but it doesn't mean every other hacker are like that. Most of them are normal people. Acting normally like the friend you have on your history class that slept through it because it's boring, they're like normal people who likes books and stuff. And they surprisingly doesn't do illegal shit all the time! The lack of research some people put to write about this subject is also saddening. I just want to stop here before I lose my mind. Lol. 3. The Japanese language written in romaji. I'm not talking about the ones where they use "Hai, ehh, ano..., Japanese nicknames or suffixes." These, I don't mind. But if you write an entire sentence just filled with romaji of Japanese that you learn from anime, this is where I drew the line and clicked back button and just never glanced back. No matter how good the plot was. That is looking at a perspective where there are no foreigners (That doesn't understand said language, which I can see the reason if they suddenly blurted out in Japanese) or if said character are not in foreign land. Just use normal conversation and people won't bother to scroll back and forth between the page just because the translation is at the very bottom of the ANs. 4. Inconsistent Point of View. What I mean by POV is; First person POV and Third person POV. Both could be well written if it has consistency. There's a lot of stories that started out good, but then the third person POV soon changed to a character specific First person POV on the second chapter of the story, then it changed again to another character's 1st person POV. Make your choice. Either stick with 1st person POV or 3rd person POV 5. Author's begging/demanding certain amount of review, because if the quota isn't fullfilled they won't update. Look, I understand that you want people to review, but there's other way to achieve it, like making AN's where people could answer your questions and some important stuff you need to discuss. I mean, which Author doesn't like to see reviews on their story, right? However, the moment you pulled this move, you know you alienated yourself from your reader. Think about it like this, you're holding the next chapter of a story that you've written hostage, basically holding a knife on its neck and demanding that visitors should leave review 6. Making canon characters Mary-sue/Gary stu. 'Nuff said. 7. Last but not least. ANs that was in the middle of the story. What are you trying to accomplish by doing this? I once wrote a story and wrote one line of AN in the middle (I have deleted the story btw. So you won't find it now), but then I soon learned by my (then) Beta that it was the wrong thing to do. Look, you might think putting it makes it funny or something like that, but I assure you, it's not. Every time I read a story and encounter this type of ANs, I just closed the tab and never came back. It's not worth my annoyance. |
