This sounds really good so far! I have to ask tho, was the name Eve intentional? The only thing I could think of that name possibly referencing was the Adam and Eve story. Then I remembered that Halloween has another much older name, 'Hallows Eve'. Which is the Chritianized holiday name the catholic church gave the pagan to the holiday called Samhain (I think that's how you spell it).

That's pretty clever if it was on purpose. It almost slipped past me. And kudos for whether it is or not in the case it really was just coincidence on your part XD

This is my favorite fanfiction ever. Can you make another where Jack goes to school? Please? This story was really well written and I rarely ever find a finished story.

I am on the side of Tooth not Jack. I think winter spirit or not his human appearance suits him just as well s his immortal one. Of course his immortal appearance makes him look more like Jack Frost, but he'd look fine as Frost with brown hair or his usual white. (I honestly think the human Jackson Overland is a tiny bit more attractive than the Jack Frost but that's not relevant)

That leads me into a criticism I have of this story. While I find it very enjoyable, I feel like something was set up that never paid off, and I think the story would be better if you'd remembered this. When Jack was having his identity crisis after being turned into a human, I expected him to eventually realize that he was Jack Frost the Guardian of Fun with or without his always had that center of fun which is why MiM choose him.

I kept waiting for him to have a snowball fight with the kids and teens (maybe convince Brianna to put down her phone and have some fun), or to cheer someone up, or just be a Guardian watching over children making sure they have a good childhood. But he never really did any of that. In his memories it appeared Jack always had that way of making everyone happy, so I don't see why he wouldn't now.

If you wanted to temporarily kill Jack, I think the perfect way to do it would have been for Eve to be about to do something that will kill many kids, and Jack to come up to her and say "Powers or not I'm still a Guardian which means it's my job to protect children with my life, if you have to kill someone kill me" and she does.

If you ever see this I hope my suggestion will be helpful to you for something in the future. I do like your story a lot anyway.

I know in a fanfiction the author has to make decisions, but in the movie the passage of time from when he drowned and when he became Jack Frost is really unclear so might not have actually died before becoming immortal. Not sure why I decided to write this but I did so, hi! Great chapter btw

Okey, yesterday I read half of this fanfic.
Today I had a dream about it:
Jack and all of the kids was here in the kitchen and Amy (who was also Rachel Elizabeth Dare the Oracle from Heroes of Olympus) started talking prophercy to them. And nobody could remember it's verses... And that's all, I would never find out what happened later because I started to wake up

hey hello i know it’s been one million years since you uploaded this but
it is my absolute favourite fic from any fandom ever and i think you should know that

i just love your characterisation! and your jokes always made me laugh, no matter how small. i really loved the flashback scenes and the emotional toll this was taking on jack but still putting on a brave face for the family. the FAMILY! first of all your OCs were really well written and i really enjoyed seeing them bicker and joke with each other (and the gratuitous doctor who references). and the discussion about family and how they don’t necessarily have to be your blood relatives to be your family is so so well written and an excellent point. the structure of this story is also excellent, even if you thought there was “pointless filler” in some chapters it would flesh out the characters and add to the suspense more often than not.

but really, this was one of the very first fanfics i read and it sparked my interest in reading every other single fanfic i could find. i have such strong memories of reading this story for the first time and feeling all giddy inside from happiness. it is still my go-to fic when things aren’t going great - this story is my equivalent of comfort food. i think ive read it fully at least 5 times now.

so tl;dr: this is my absolute favourite story and thank you so much for writing it. i hope that wherever you are now that life is good and you have a great day ️

I don’t know if you’ll ever read this... but if you do, I just have to say thank you. I first read this when I was 12 or 13, and I’m 18 now. I STILL come back and read this every so often: it’s THAT good. It manages to fill me with this wonderful feeling of family and acceptance and an overall calming feeling with JUST the right amount of suspense that no other story has been able to measure up to. I hope that you’re doing well and that we’ll get to read more from you soon (hopefully, maybe published?). Thanks for giving me a story I know will always be a good read and re-read. :)

I just want to say, I have to commend you for this story again all these years later. I was one of the people who was reading this back when you were still writing it back in 2012/2013, and there are still many times where I think about it and remember how much I enjoyed it. Today was one of those days, and I went through my favorites until I found it and re-read the whole thimg over the course of the day — and not for the first time, either. I am leaving this review on chapter 1 because I k ow I didn’t review the early chapters and will be able to post it here. But I just felt the need to tell you that even now, in my sophmore year of college, I think about this wonderful story you created years ago and it still brings me joy. And I think that is a true testament to your writing skills. Hope you are doing well and still putting those writing skills to good use :)
