Asuramaru looked out at the high afternoon sun before returning his gaze to the peaceful park scenery. He learned to admire what humans called nature. The warmth of sunlight, the cooing of pigeons, the chatter of humans. It all reminded him of the little things that a part of the living world, something demons never stopped to think about.
If someone were to tell him that he would enjoy the beauty that was Earth before, he would have laughed in their face. Yet here he was, sitting on the perch of a tall building and looking out into the vast greenery that mother nature had to offer.
"How much longer do you intend on doing this?" Without even looking, he recognized the presence and voice to be his sister.
"What do you want, Krul?"
"It's been 30 years already." Asuramaru sighed. He knew that it was going to end in a tragedy. A demon and human were never meant to be together.
~ A Deal with A Demon ~
Yuu was lounging around in the living room when Mika dashed out of the house. He sulked at the fact that Mika failed to acknowledge his presence so he retreated into Mika's room, waiting for the blond to return. He was happy that Mika was trying so hard for his sake but he wanted them to spend more time together because they were a couple. Well, sort of a couple since Mika didn't act much different. He would shy away from the affection that Yuu displayed, not that he mind because Mika was too cute when he's flustered.
Yuu was about to reorganize Mika's bookshelf again when he heard the gentle taps of water droplets against the window. Even though it was a light shower of rain, he took it upon himself to find Mika so they could share an umbrella. He remembered it was a romantic gesture to stand under the same umbrella with the person you love. But he cannot recall where he learned that from. For all he knows, it could be one of those things Shinoa wanted him to do in attempt to win Mika's heart.
He was secretly thankful that the petite girl tried to help him with his crush on Mika but it also came with incessant teasing. She was also the first to congratulate them. Everyone else in the group was also happy for them, except Shiho. But he couldn't blame him. His sister was taken from him because of a demon and Yuu himself was still a demon. And if the others knew, they would also probably be cautious of his motives.
Yuu was barely passed the first block when he saw a crowd of people standing in the middle of the road. The first question was why was there so many people gathered in a place that is usually not so busy and the second thought was why they were crowded on the street.
The last thing Yuu recalled seeing such a large crowd of people up front was when his house was burned down. People were murmuring and whispering to each other as they stood around and watched the fire be put out.
A sudden surge of panic made Yuu want to see what it was about. As he made his way to the crowd, he saw a woman clutching a little girl while they both cried. Their clothes were drenched in rain. He tore his eyes away from the sight and pushed through the crowd to see what they were all looking at.
He acted on pure instinct when his eyes landed on a blond hair. He really hoped it was not him as he stepped closer and dropped on his knees. Yuu ignored the rain drenching his clothes or the bloody rain water that soaked his pants. He slowly moved to hold the person close to him and brushed a lock of hair out of their face. A soft groan was heard and the other opened his eyes. Dazed blue eyes looked back at him and Yuu felt his world shatter.
"M-Mika, what happened? I just… D-Don't worry, okay?" Yuu found himself saying but his mind was blank. He knew he should be doing something, anything, but he couldn't move or stop the tears from falling.
"Yuu…" Mika croaked painfully. "It-It's… no use…"
"We… I need to get you to a hospital… I need-"
"I-I found it…" Mika said before violently coughing, blood spilling over the corners of his lips.
"You'll be okay. I'll… you're going to be just fine, okay," Yuu examined Mika's tattered body to find a way to move the blond without hurting him too much.
"A-Amane…" Yuu's eyes widen at the name that left Mika's lips. "Amane Yuu-Yuuichirou."
Mika gasped at the sharp pain when his head and back fell upon the hard ground beneath him. He barely registered the glow that enveloped the demon. But his ears still rang from Yuu yelling his name before he disappeared into a million light particles that scattered into the gloomy atmosphere.
Mika smiled at himself as tears ran down his face, mixed with rain drops. He managed to help Yuu before he died in the streets. He also hoped that the little girl was okay.
His eyes slowly fluttered close but the smile on his face never faded, even as his heart stopped beating.

Asuramaru was there that day. He watched it all happen. He saw Mika walking down the street. He watched the umbrella get swept in the wind and the little girl chase after it. He knew the truck would not stop in time as the driver smashed the breaks and the truck skid forward due to the rain. He did nothing as Mika run forward to grab the girl and the truck rammed into his body. He saw the mother take the little girl from Mika's limp arms and she thanked him over and over again as she wept.
"There was nothing anyone could have done in that situation," Krul said, as if she was reading his mind. He could have stopped it from happening. Demons were not bounded by many rules. Causing and preventing deaths were definitely not monitored, unless there was a large drop in numbers. "Though I'm curious to how this person, Yuuichirou, manage to make my brother care."
Asuramaru remained silent. He kept his gaze on the couple sitting by a large tree that provided them shade from the bright sunshine.
"Watching them from a distance like some guardian angel is creepy for a demon. I thought I would let you do as you want but this is seriously getting out of hand," Krul sighed. "I'll let you in on a secret. No matter what happens, soulmates will find each other over and over again."
"What are you implying….?" Asuramaru turned to meet his sister's softened gaze. He used to think she was weird for caring about humans but look at himself now.
"They're meant for each other, Asuramaru. How else do you explain the fact that they managed to be together despite one of them becoming a demon? It was meant to be like this. In order for both of them to move on, the tragedy had to happen," Krul said as she also looked at the couple. "They managed to beat the ultimate test of fate and now they're happily together."
Asuramaru looked as well as the couple laughed. A small smile graced his lips as he stood up from his position and walked towards his sister.
"Since they moved on, I guess I should too. Sometimes I do wonder what it would be like to be born human…" Asuramaru mused and Krul snorted.
"Dream on, brother. We're demons through and through, there's no changing it." A portal opened and Krul stepped into it. Asuramaru took one last glance at the happy couple before following his sister.
"Best of luck, Yuuichirou."

"Okay Yuu-chan. Spill the beans, what possessed you to plan this picnic?" Mika asked and Yuu looked offended.
"Can I not take my beautiful boyfriend on a picnic date without being questioned?" Yuu said dramatically and Mika rolled his eyes.
"You won't be questioned if you weren't so lazy," Mika said and poked Yuu on the nose, causing him to wrinkle his nose.
"I may be lazy but I'm a great boyfriend," Yuu said proudly as he leaned in to kiss Mika. The blond hummed lightly as he returned the gesture.
Yuu pulled back with a huge smile on his face. Mika arched an eyebrow but received no response as Yuu moved the picnic stuff to the side as he moved to sit closer to Mika.
"Mika, we've known each other for so many years now. Like 15 years?"
"12 years actually. We met when we were 8 and we're 20 now. At least I am." Mika smiled at the last part when Yuu pouted.
"I'll be 20 in two months! Anyways, 12 years of knowing each other and 3 years of dating," Yuu said and reached over to hold Mika's hands in his. "And I'm really happy that you can put up with me when I swear I drive Guren into the brinks of insanity. Or so he tells me."
"I do try really hard to deal with your antics."
"Hey, I'm trying to be romantic!" Yuu snapped before clearing his throat and softened his tone, "I know that I can be a handful sometimes-"
"Sometimes he says," Mika giggled and Yuu made a whining sound. "I won't interrupt anymore. Promised."
"As I was saying, I'm really happy that you were a part of my life. When we first met, I wasn't in the best mood since I moved away from friends I grew up with. But you made the move here worth it. And now here I am, 12 years later, dating one of the most beautiful beings that have graced the Earth," Yuu chuckled at the sight of Mika blushing. "I'm lucky to have you as my friend, and even luckier to have you as my boyfriend. But you would make me the luckiest and happiest person in the world if you were my husband."
"Y-Yuu-chan?" Mika watched as Yuu pull a small velvet box from his pocket. His eyes widen at the ring held inside of the box.
"Mikaela, will you marry me?" Yuu asked as he looked into the watery blue eyes.
"Yes!" Mika said as he tackled Yuu into a hug, "A million times yes!"
Yuu laughed as he hugged back. Yuu slowly sat back up as Mika moved to sit on Yuu's legs. Yuu took the ring from the box and slid it onto Mika's finger. They looked deep into each other's eyes before sharing a brief chaste kiss.
"I love you Mika, so much."
"I love you too, Yuu-chan."
And this concludes this series :) I had a lot of fun writing this and I hope you enjoyed it too! I have many more ideas for this couple so keep a look out for them :)
