Author has written 57 stories for Danny Phantom, Detective Conan/Case Closed, Twilight, Avatar: Last Airbender, Pokémon, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ouran High School Host Club, and Young Justice. Update-Hey guys! Over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be moving things to my brand new AO3 account! I'm katiesparks on there as well (yay, no one took my screenname!), so make sure to drop in and say hello if you have an account! I will probably be moving permanently because of the problems that FF has developed, but I promise to make an effort to continue posting here as long as it is viable. I will also be cross-posting to my tumblr if I can figure out how to do it. My name on there is katieandkirby if any of you would like to follow me. Make sure you message me and identify yourselves and I will happily follow you back! Thanks for everything and wish me luck on the new sites! ALSO. Some works will NOT be transferred to the new account, including all of the Danny Phantom works and some of the Detective Conan ones. This account is going to remain the only place to find those. Even I don't have copies of them anymore, they were two computers and 5 hard drive wipes ago. So if you actually like any of that stuff, don't go looking for it on AO3. This is it. Before you ask me to beta, go here. I, personally, think the act of threatening readers is wrong. If someone wants to review, let them and if they don't, be content that they read it at all. The threat to withhold chapters until you get a certain number of reviews is not only juvenile, but also desperate. Write for yourself, not for the reviews. It's one thing to beg, even I've done that occasionally, but threatening readers is stupid. The house is at the end of a gravel driveway. Its outside is calm, a cream color that looks at home among the trees and grass around it. You walk up to the door, the gravel under your feet shifting slightly but more solid than you'd thought it would be. It has been walked on by many feet and is packed deep into the soft red clay. On the door hangs a sign. 'On Hiatus'. You hesitate but knock nonetheless. After several long moments of waiting and shuffling your feet on the worn boards of the old porch, the heavy door opens. On the other side of the screen door is a small brown headed teen who looks at you with large blue eyes. "Yes?" she says, her voice stretching out the words in a way you are unfamiliar with. "Are you Katie?" you ask her and she gives you a slightly cross look. "Its katie, if you please. Why?" she says back, voice petulant. "I was just coming to ask you a few things, it won't take long, I promise." you say earnestly. "Oh?" she asks, sounding curious. "Come on in then, though I will say, I don't see why everyone is ignoring my sign." "I had just heard you were here and thought maybe you just forgot to take it down." you respond, stepping inside. The girl kicks off her shoes and you follow suit, wondering if you should leave your socks as well, for she is barefoot. But she is already walking deeper into the house and you rush to follow. "I'm afraid I'm kind of busy right now, school is taking up a lot of time. But I suppose, if its really important, I can help you. It won't take long, right?" she says, walking into what appears to be the living room and plopping down on one of the big sofas. You perch on the opposite one and smile. "No, not too long. But if you're busy, I can find someone else. They just say you're really good and I thought I could always ask." you say and she smiles. "If you could, that would be better. I don't have any time to myself these days. All I ever do is work, I hardly get to write my own stories lately. Plus I'm working on some original fiction too, its coming along really well, if not in any sort of order." she gestures wearily to a box labeled 'Homepage' over in the corner. "But, if you like, I know several very nice authors who might be able to help you." "That'd be fine. Thanks so much for your time!" you say back, slightly disappointed but cheerful still. "Great!" she smiles. "Kirby!" she calls down a hallway and a taller teen with short brown hair and a pair of rectangle-shaped glasses emerges, scowling. "Yeah?" the teen says. "We have a guest! She needs a list of some authors who can beta for her. Can you make one up and send it to her later? Please?" the smaller teen begs and the other sighs. "Yeah, I'll do it." "Thanks!" The other teen leaves and you are alone with her again. She smiles. "Sorry I couldn't help you, I really would've liked to. But I'm always ready to talk if you want! You can PM me or get me at my email address, kz3493@. I'm also on Skype, my name on there is katie_and_kirby. If none of those work, I always respond to posts on my livejournal, I'm katie_and_kirby there too. And if you have a facebook, feel free to friend Kirby, she's listed as Kirby Taylor. If you friend her, she'll tell you how to get me on there." "Thanks, I will! Have a nice day, katie!" you say, standing up and putting your shoes back on. She holds open the screen door as you walk out. "You're welcome!" The heavy door shuts behind you with the tiniest bit of sound. I take requests. That being said, here's two things you should know before asking me for a fic. I'm generally a canon shipper. I have a few exceptions, but my rule of thumb is that, unless you can make a solid, well founded argument for it based mostly off canon and some off fanon, I won't ship it and I won't write it. Feel free to ask, though, I might surprise you. I reserve the right to deny any request for any reason. Just because you ask for it doesn't make me obligated to write it. You should try, though, because I'm generally good about getting back to people. I've been on ff a long time, as most of you probably know. Therefore, I have my fair share of stories that have been started and not ever completed and a good number of them never will be. But, if you see something you like that you want to see continued, please, inform me. Lots of times, it's lack of response that leaves a story hanging and, in the case that it's not, I am always more than willing to allow others to adopt my stories and would even hand over my own outlines without complaints, because I write stories so I can read them a lot of times. So, don't hesitate to ask! For anything else, Feel free to contact me kz3493@ I'm always willing to chat or talk! |
