I feel like crying now. Your book is well written and detailed, so well that I can actual feel empathetic towards a fictive character.

Wow thank you so much for this story. I saw some nice fanart for it by viria on instagram and came immediately to check it out. That was seven hours ago and now I've read the whole thing. I didn't even watch FMA until a year ago and now I can come enjoy fics from over a decade ago—what a great gift!

But honestly, this story is so impressive. The first half was incredibly sad, and in a believable way that put tears in my eyes. The character development was realistic and the shifting points of view helped in a big way. The next time I watch FMA, I won't be surprised if I'mm subconsciously taking this story as canon in the back of my head. And I am so incredibly delighted to see that there is a sequel. Guess I know what I'll be reading this weekend!

Thank you for writing this. I will write to you more in PM, but reading this was like the final piece for me to accept that I was truly abused as a child. My therapist has tried to tell me I was but I could never acccept it until I read this fic.
anonymous chapter 80 . 6/29/2019
The first time I read this story must have been nearly ten years ago, and while I left a review then, too, I feel that I owe it to you to express what I didn't know how to then.
This story is incredible; it reads as well today as when I first stumbled upon it, and it helped me through some very tough times in my life. Your Roy and Riza were two of the only protagonists whom I saw myself reflected in as a child, and reading what you wrote felt like a vindication for me. Roy's brief moment of weakness in chapter 55, especially, hit me like a truck when I first read it, because I was in the same position as he was, and not much older. The old house falling apart may as well have been my house. It's no exaggeration to say that you GET IT, what it's like to be in such a situation, in a way no author I've ever read has. I have no idea of your background, whether you share experiences with your protagonists or whether you just had the empathy to portray their struggles in a way that is true to life, but you have written one of the most authentic stories I have ever encountered, and I am grateful from the bottom of my heart that you did. Thank you so much.

I realize I'm shouting into the void here, given how long ago this story was posted, but I remembered it and reread it for the first time in years and found it just as powerful and moving as the first... and second times I read it. It was beautifully crafted, and well thought out. If you ever read this, I hope you know just how much of an impression your writing had made.
