Welcome to my profile, I am Shimegami (the second), writing bad fanfiction since the dawn of time...as ever, on that long and lonesome quest to make my profile conform to FFN's latest rules.

And I am, for the most part, retired from fanfiction writing.

The reasons for this are numerous - lack of time, lack of inspiration, lack of interest in any one particular fandom, etc. I've been trying to work on some original novels, as well, which leaves precious little inspiration for other writing. I apologize for the series I never finished and really do wish I could have done more with the works I intended to edit and sequel.

My FFN profile, embarrassing as the early work may be, is to me a nostalgic timeline of my progression through various stages in my life, from early high school to a real teaching job, and through various fandoms as well. I ended up taking quite a lot of the Gundam Wing and much of the early Digimon 02 stuff off my profile, as the writing was just too terrible, but other pieces that I really felt strongly about at the time are still there. Also, the early stuff is unabashedly shounen-ai, and I slashed damn near everyone with Duo, so if you're into that kind of thing...

On to the profile...

I started writing fanfic in 1998 (beginning with Star Wars: Wraith Squadron characters) at the age of 15...I'll let you do the math. I have been at Fanfiction.net long enough that I preceded the introduction of the Chapter system, the removal of R-rated stories and large profile photos, and up until recently there were still actual hyperlinks in some of my early fics. I love the act of creating a story but I have a tough time getting in the mood for fanfiction nowadays and prefer to work on my blog or my original fiction.

My goals in life include owning a kotatsu, making a living doing something I enjoy while not habituating in a box, travelling frequently and falling truly madly deeply in love with someone who perfectly meets my shoujo-manga-warped ideals. Since very few of those things are going to happen, I'll just have to settle for the kotatsu.

In any case, you'll usually find me wishing I was writing and being horribly uninspired. Or procastinating. I really enjoy stories about ghosts, time travel, underdog characters, twins, supernatural and out-of-body experiences, cyberpunky stuff and forbidden love. Most of what I write is romantic drama, angst and the occasional attempt at humor. I also have a (very busy) Real Life and am trying to get an actual writing career off the ground, but we'll see where that goes.

Occasionally people draw things for my stories, and someday I will dig them all up and post them here.
