This would've made a wonderful tease for a full, multi-chaptered story. Ai's surprise return and dead-panned admonition to Hakase and Conan offered just the right amount of levity to an otherwise somber story.

I'm sorry to see that you've left ff net behind, as you have a great talent for getting these characters' personalities just right!
