This was...wow. I know it's been years since you published this, but I have to review. This was amazing at portraying a gamut of emotions over a photo timeline so long that it's almost hard to picture (and I'm not even talking about the 4 million years in stasis on the Ark). The juxtaposition of Sideswipe and Ratchet was brilliant. Oh, and I love a good long oneshot 10k ! Wow.
I'm favoriting this.

he says sides needs to watch his mouth, but i think ratchet needs to watch his own mouth instead

This was so cute to read. I really liked how the snapshots were all from Ratchet's POV, which helped it to flow smoother. I know it's kind of an old story, but again, I really enjoyed it.

These two do have a relationship even if a name can not be pinned to what kind of a relationship it is. Very deep. Well described. And now I understand the soccer ball.

Beautiful as ever. Still love the depth you put into the characters and the sneak peaks into their psychology.

Even though this was just bits and pieces, just glimpses here and there, I feel as though I have just followed Sideswipe and Ratchet through the war; from frustrated and enthusiastic beginnings to passive acceptance of inevitability. Odd, beautiful, and heart breaking all at once. Wonderful job.

I know you wrote this a while back but... wow that was breathtaking! You have an amazing ability to make characters seem to come alive. I've read all of your Transformers works, and I really wish you would write more. You're fantastic! I don't know if you'll reply or not, but I wrote a story based off of your bit about Snarl winning a game of Statue. It was only after I published it that I realized I might have to let you know I used it. Whoops. So, sorry for not letting you know sooner, hope it's ok! Anyway, back to you and this story. I really love it and it was awesome! You should really be a professional!

This is totally awesome! I can just imagine Ratch stalking up to wherever Sides is with a tire iron, ready to deal out death, mayhem, and severe pain. Could we maybe get this from Sides' point of view? It'd be funny to see what he was doing during most of this.

Collection of story blurbs? It was just perfect. I don't find it ironic at all that I finished reading this story just as the sun fully crested the horizon. Thank you again.

A very moving and deep account of the relationship between Sideswipe and Ratchet. You've got a very keen sense of both of their characters, and though theirs are the core of the story, your sense of the other characters in the story as well - especially Prowl - accent this story so wonderfully, and complete it as an experience. I feel like I could read about these two together.

I especially like the last section:

"I know," Ratchet groused, "I've given them to him."

Such a beautiful, soft moment, yet so filled with gravity and depth. Your ability to spark such special pieces in a story is critical and pinpoints your abilities as an excellent writer.

Let me just say that this is one of the best stories I've ever read. The characters were just perfect, especially Ratchet and Sideswipe. Many stories exhibit their 'prank-pulling and frequent injuries equals one wrench-throwing and violently cursing medic' relationship, but this one goes down way deeper than what's on the surface.

That being said, your writing bears a poignancy and grace that few writers possess, yet you still found a way to include some laugh out loud humor in there. To say the least, I'm kind of awed by that. Thank you very much for posting this brilliant fic!
