Author has written 5 stories for Young Justice. I'm somewhat older than the target demographic of Saturday morning cartoons, but Young Justice is rated 'PG,' so no one can call me immature, yes? I think the greatest superheroes are the ones without superpowers (i.e. Jade and Roy, if you haven't already noticed) because they have to be so much more resourceful than others, and need to put in many times the effort. They push past the normal human boundaries, but are so (often tragically) human or even less-than-human, and their psychology is interesting to write. I tend to write introspective snapshots of the characters' psyches with mostly angst and a dash of humor, in a style that's kind of like stream-of-consciousness, but not quite. I don't know why I'm so fascinated by the Jade/Roy relationship, but then again, what isn't fascinating about it? Especially now that there are two Roys, both of whom are damaged... I also like the Arrow family, overall. My Young Justice stories are based on the cartoons only, but I usually try to incorporate canon from the DC universe (such as Roy's Navajo background, etc.). |
