![]() Author has written 3 stories for RWBY. Right, so I'm Gammabeta99 and here's my profile. Name: Gammabeta99. Why? Because the first story I read on this site was done by a guy called AlphaDelta1001 and I am eternally in his debt to him because his stories really pulled me in. Age: Who even knows anymore... I think it could have a 8 in it somewhere, but I'm not entirely sure. Things I like: Myself (I am extremely narcissistic), good writing, good fighting, nap time, and nothing beats a good argument. Things I don't like: Needles, throat injuries (I was punched in the throat once - that really hurt!), and people who refuse to hear out the opinions of others - listen first, mock later. My stories: For all my stories I hope to enphsise one key point: there are no heroes or villains. No good or evil, no angels or demons. Just men and woman doing what they think they must or what they think is right. Many authors both inside and outside of fanfiction fall into the habit of having rather shallow or one dimensional antagonists, its the 'that guy is evil because reasons' or 'he was born that way'. I could go into the whole Nature vs Nurture debate, but for the sake of time I'm just going to make this clear: you can't be born bad. Take Hitler, sure he was a prick and deserved to die for what he did during WW2, but he wasn't born that way. Men and women will always find reasons to kill eachother, and they will always think up ways to justify it to themselves and others. This isn't wrong or evil, this is natural. Taking all that into account, I write to reflect what is written above. Every story I write, I write them with as much realism of the human condition as possible. Some characters may seem like immoral bastards who do what they do for no reason, but that is only to start with. Every character has a backstory, a reason for doing the things they do; and I will always try to do them justice by making sure that every angle is covered when I write. Edge of Life: Edge of Life is a rather dreary novel which follows Jaune Arc in a universe where his parents died very early in his life, and as a result of that he didn't become the idiotic boy hero that he was in canon; he became the rough and scarred man known as Solus Superstes. He isn't a hero, he isn't a savior - he's a suvivor. But make no mistake, Jaune is no villain. Jaune may be reletively immoral, but he is still a man with hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow. Note: This story pre-dates Volume 3 of RWBY, and I was unable to adapt the plot to include either Maidens or Salem. So neither apply, no Salem, no Maidens. Edge of Life: Requiem: The sequel to Edge of Life. Jaune survived the Battle of Beacon Hill, but he was cast adrift into the void between realities. He drifted in a state of nothingness for a great deal of time, his body none existant in a world where nothing ever happens or could happen. But for seemingly the first time in his life luck was on Jaune's side for once and he was cast out of the void and into the world once again. But things are different, the world around him is alien to what he thought he knew. Jaune had found himself... in the canon RWBY universe. Salem and the Maidens exist in this universe, will their power guide or destroy Jaune? Only time will tell. Rose and Kira refused to believe that Jaune had died at Beacon on that rainy night, they were firm in their knowledge that Jaune was somehow alive. With their minds set on both hugging and slapping that idiot Arc of theirs, the two girls formulated a plan to follow Jaune to wherever it is he ended up. But as usual luck isn't on their side, and they end up half a world away with no way to reach Jaune. Will they ever get their chance to slap him? Or will they die in the frozen wastes under the thumb of an enemy far greater than they had ever known could exist. HIATUS. Wraith: Unrelated to Edge of Life... cough... It was the day after initiation and teams RWBY and JNPR are looking absolutely golden, but things begin to fall apart when the secret Rift beneath the school splits open and a robed demon steps out. At first things seem simple; they're good and he's evil right? Not so simple, that 'demon' turns out to be Jaune Arc from another universe who had the misfortune to get a semblance that indiscriminatly, and perminantly, absorbs the aura of whoever is near him. As the story progresses things will become less clear, the lines between good and bad will become blurry and Jaune may not actually be the villain that everyone thinks he is. |
