Author has written 13 stories for NCIS, Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, StarTrek: The Next Generation, Highlander, Ninja Turtles, Transformers/Beast Wars, Danny Phantom, Harry Potter, Hobbit, Nightrunner series, Labyrinth, Criminal Minds, and Knight Rider. Name: Cynthia Warren Favorite Canons: Lord of the Rings, Danny Phantom, Harry Potter, Star Trek (all of the Series). I am a long-time reader on this site, but began leaving unsigned reviews shortly before actually joining. For three years, I collaborated on four fics with Miriam1. The first was a Danny Phantom/Silmarillion crossover entitled "A Ghost in Middle-earth." The second was a sequel to the first called "What Becomes of an Enemy?" This universe had a one-shot attached to it called "A Message From Middle-earth." My third full-length collaborative work is a completed Danny Phantom/Harry Potter fic called "A Vent Comes to Haunt." I have completed my first solo fic, a Danny Phantom/NCIS crossover. Its title is "Murder Most Spectral." Miriam1 served as my beta and advisor for this fic. A number of readers requested that I write a sequel, in which the team meets Danielle Phantom. It has been written, and has been posted under the title "A Ghostly Dilemma." Miriam1 came up with the plotline, and we co-wrote it. A while ago, Miriam introduced me to Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series. One of her fics, inspired by a scene from the first volume, inspired me to write one as well. It crosses over with Lord of the Rings. I've called it "An Unexpected Visitor". Some time ago, I decided that Seregil should meet the Elves of Middle-earth. To that end I began writing "An Elf to Elf Visitation." This story is inspired by the same scene that inspired my first Nightrunner series story, but goes in an entirely different direction. It is also crossed with The Hobbit. Some time ago, I was talking with Miriam and suddenly had a crazy idea: what if Jareth from Labyrinth met Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation? This rabid plot bunny would not leave me alone, so I started working on it. It is called "Labyrinthine Quandary". As part of the Middle-earth series I worked on with Miriam, we decided a while ago to do a final story. This story takes place several months after the first story. The location is Valinor. It is called "Phantom Judgement", and features the villains from the first story in a situation they had hoped to avoid. Several years ago, I was reading fanfiction on a Lord of the Rings site. It inspired me to write a series of scenelets from Tolkien's Middle-earth stories around the theme of Bette Midler's song "The Rose". It started out as single-paragraph musings, which I tried posting as a one-shot on Miriam1's page. It didn't work out, but I began reworking it into longer scenes. The new version is a series of one-shot musings of varying length. Each chapter will have a line, or two, from the song "The Rose" as its title. This is a necessary point of clarification. Since I started writing Danny Phantom stories, I was operating under the premise that the last three episodes in Season 2 were in this order: "Reality Trip," "Double-Cross My Heart," and then "Kindred Spirits." This was the order they were listed under in Wikipedia, explaining that this was the order of story continuum, not necessarily airing order, and this is how I've dealt with plot development. Since then, Wikipedia has changed the order to represent the order in which the episodes were aired, which lists the last three episodes in this order: "Kindred Spirits," "Double-Cross My Heart," and "Reality Trip." The reason this point of order is so important to me is that certain relationships are defined by certain events. The placement of "Double-Cross My Heart" expresses the Guys' in White success in upgrading themselves, and their viciousness to harm any humans that get in the way of their capture of Danny Phantom. It also makes it clear that Danny isn't quite so clueless about wanting a relationship with Sam anymore. The episode "Kindred Spirits" sets a definition of the relationship between Vlad and Danny. By creating the clones and trying to destroy the original Danny, there is a line that is crossed which is a point of no return. Vlad's dubious care and desire to have Danny as his son/apprentice is forever destroyed, and Vlad is so bitter, he would rather take revenge against Danny for rejecting him than accepting him in whatever capacity. It is a serious change in their dynamic. So, to keep things clear, in my stories, the order of events in the last three episodes of Season 2 is assumed to take place in this order (unless otherwise subverted by my plots): "Reality Trip," "Double-Cross My Heart," and then "Kindred Spirits." A while ago, I had this idea of doing a crossover between Criminal Minds and Highlander: The Series. After fiddling with a full length story for a while, I settled on a one-shot titled "The Ultimate Serial Killer." After a number of reviewers requested a sequel, I wrote another one-shot. This one, I have called "Watchers and Agents." Shortly after watching the reboot movie of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I had a random idea of having a Turtle meet someone from a crime drama. The first show in my head was Criminal Minds. And so, I wrote a one-shot entitled "Unexpected Assistance." A while ago, I had an idea: What if KITT from Knight Rider had picked up a transmission from one of the Transformers? I came up with a one-shot, which I have called "A Misplaced Transmission." This uses the Generation 1 cartoon series The Transformers. In addition, I have also thought up a longer sequel to this fic. It's title has not been determined yet, but the rating is going up. My only hint is that there is character death in The Transformers: The Movie. As a result, I expect the sequel to be rated T. I have a new story posted, entitled Behavioral Science and Ghosts. It's a Danny Phantom/Criminal Minds crossover. It occurred to me that many fic writers have Danny get involved with a BAU serial killer case. This is something I've had problems with, so I decided to have the BAU meet Danny by way of a consult, instead of murders. This story is the result. Not long ago, I decided to write a Harry Potter songfic. The song I chose was "Bob Dylan's Dream." The original can be found on YouTube. The story I posted is called "Remus Lupin's Dream." |
