I'm a teenager, and I live in the US. I like to run, and I play the flute. To be honest, its funny that I even started writing, because there are two types of english teachers: ones that accept my bs essays, and ones that don't; and I'm pursuing a career in civil engineering. And I'm also in love with reading. And TV. And movies. And FOOD. And lots of things, really. But mostly reading and food. I dislike a lot of things, but I find focusing on them is just a waste of time. My favorite word is penultimate, because there's always more to come. Sound of Music definitely included. My Favorite Books: My Favorite Series! 1. The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott (I'm sorry, this just beats Harry Potter. I literally cried for thirty minutes after I finished the last book. The whole thing is six books, each half-blood-prince sized, and takes place over a matter of days. DAYS! It combines mythology and magic and immortals and legends and...ahh!! It's honestly the greatest thing ever written ever, and too perfect to put into words, and absolutely doesn't have enough fans. So check it out!) 2. Harry Potter by JK Rowling (No explanation needed.) 3. Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson Original Five is about number 9, because I read these really late, and I felt like I didn't get the true experience because the writing was so simple, meant for early middleschoolers. But this series is amazing! I love all of the big seven, but Percy and Annabeth and Leo (LEO LEO LEO) are my favorites. And Nico is absolute perfection. It's got adventure and humor and romance and mythology, a perfect mixture, and you should read it.) 4. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer (These books are interesting, adventurous, all types of loving, clever, and redefine the antihero.) 5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (At first I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this, but then I read it, and I fell in love. It has such an amazing message...and the characters are SO well-developed...and it's perfect. Catching Fire is definitely the best of the three, and Mockingjay...well, it let me down a little. But the epilogue was better than the last three books combined, and it's still an incredible series.) My Favorite Books! 1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (Everything about this book is unique. Its a work of historical fiction that brings in a unique perspective on World War II, childhood, the sides of war, and challenges the Hitler culture in such a marvelous way. The protagonist is the definition of someone who gives so much to those around her but still believes herself to be unloved. There is not one not-original idea in this story, and no book has made me cry quite so much in such a long time.) 2. The Help by Katherine Stockett (The author manages to challenge everything about Southern culture in the fifties but still maintain a novel so full of love and wit that you can't help but smile with tears in your eyes. If you've seen the movie, you will love the book; it's a very faithful adaptation.) 3. Paper Towns by John Green (I have never read a story that is so funny, mysterious, dramatic, and yet is such an incredible journey of self discovery.) 4. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (Never did I think I could love this book as much as I do. Romance and reality, a beautiful combination.) 5. Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick (A quirky, unique, humorous, dramatic, and brilliant take on a horrible situation and all sorts of love.) My Favorite Books I've Read In School! (Because all the other ones are horrible and I loved these.) 1. Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger (Holden Caulfield is by all means considered one of the greatest characters in American literature. It's about innocence and freedom and angsty teenager-ness, and it's incredible. The metaphor, symbolism, the idea of it all. It's amazing.) 2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (I'm sure you've all heard of it, but it's about a completely racist jury in the deep south, seen through the eyes of the defense lawyer's young daughter. An African American is wrongly accused, and you see it through her eyes. It's just an incredible story with an important message that's written perfectly.) 3. A Separate Peace by John Knowles (I actually teared up. It's about two boys at a prep school, the brawn and the brains. They become best friends, but the brains becomes jealous over time. It has a tragic ending, but it's really moving.) 4. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (This book is legendary, and you've probably read it/will read it. But I'd read it even if I wasn't in school. It's about family and friendship and bonds greater than what can be put into words.) 5. The Outsiders by SE Hinton (Yeah, it's about a bunch of bad boys who were nice to look at when we watched the movie. I often hear girls in my grade saying this was the best book they read in school for that reason. But that's not why it was amazing. The way they all had each other's back...they were a family. And they loved each other. It's an amazing work.) Also a huge fan of: The Mortal Instruments & Infernal Devices, An Abundance of Katherines, Percy Jackson Original Five, Crossroads, A Wrinkle in Time, Eleanor & Park, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, The Glass Menagerie, Maximum Ride until about halfway through Fang, until the very, very end, after they FAIL, but it has a really cute like last two pages, Gods of Manhattan, Everyday, Unbroken, and so many more. My Favorite TV Shows: 1. Everybody Loves Raymond (It's hysterical, and if you haven't seen this show, your life is incomplete. I watch this show, and my entire day gets better.) 2. Desperate Housewives (Whoever created this snow was an absolute genius. It seamlessly combines humor and drama and romance and mystery, working around an incredibly complex plot line, each season's more interesting than the last) 3. Glee (R.I.P Cory Monteith. God bless. I'm not too much a fan now *cough* I'm giving it too much credit *cough, but the beginning seasons are really good, and I would say eighty percent of the music they cover is done really well.) 4. Survivor (Yes, it's reality TV. No, I don't care. When Jeff Probst smiles, everyone smiles. He makes watching people sweat and suffer hilariously funny.) 5. How I Met Your Mother (This has been moved down two spots due to the last five minutes of the finale that made me want to barf. Currently rewriting it in a fanfic, not quite sure when I'll post, but I hated that "return of the smurf penis" ending so much I had to break my HP mold. (4/14/14). This whole thing is fantastic. Every time I watch it, I'm blown away yet again by how mindblowingly perfect it is. So funny, and the actors are all fantastic, and the way that you can go eight seasons without meeting her mother, and that in an all culminates in a highly awaited ending! Ahhh. Watch it.) (original) Also a huge fan of: Dancing with the Stars FTW, Dance Moms (Don't judge. The reality's all for show anyway, and I find the fake drama hysterical, and accompanied by the beautiful dances, it's quite nice), Baby Daddy, Friends, Frasier, Cheers, King of Queens, anything on the OLD cartoon network/Nick/Disney (Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Fairly Oddparents, DRAKE&JOSH, Sister Sister, Rugrats, Suite Life), Full House, Avatar the Last Airbender, Elementary, and Spongebob Squarepants is always going to hold a special place in my heart. My Favorite Movies: this does not include Harry Potter, but the only one of those that would make my top five is Prisoner of Azkaban and Deathly Hallows Part 2, anyway. 1. My Cousin Vinny (So basically, the Karate Kid and his friend get arrested, and he calls in the burglar from Home Alone and his fiancé, Marisa Tomei, to fight for his case. It's hysterical, and if you haven't seen this, you need to.) 2. The Lion King (I could watch this movie over and over and over. It never gets old.) 3. Ghostbusters (Bill Murray is my idol. And I don't know where the director came up with this, but I am eternally grateful.) 4. Avatar (There's a reason it's the movie that's made the most money...ever. Fantastic to look at and to watch and I loved it.) 5. Toy Story 3 (This movie literally kills me from the inside out.) Also a huge fan of: MEAN GIRLS, perfection = Les Miserables, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Titanic, Star Trek (the new ones. Call me not a faithful fan because I dislike the old ones except for the hilariousness that is George Takei, but I love the new movies and only the new movies), Star Wars, god, anything Disney, really (Frozen was fantastic.): Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the Tramp I think are my fave Disneys, but there's probably way more, the Toy Stories, Forrest Gump, Evan Almighty, RENT, Blues Brothers. humpf. Every single Pixar movie, TOY STORY taking the top spot. Apollo 13. A Beautiful Mind. There's way more, I swear. My Favorite People: (In hindsight, this is probably going to look a lot like a crush list with a few girls thrown in there, but it's not too much, I promise haha). Julie Andrews, John&Hank Green and their adorable little family, Walt Disney, my friends, my family, (how cheesy was that?), Tom Felton, Tobey Maguire, DARREN CRISS, Zefron, Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo diCaprio (yeah. he's perfect.), Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Leo Valdez (no mistake there), JK Rowling, Mother Theresa, Michael Scott, George Takei, (perhaps this isn't so crush list looking), Logan Lerman, (oh, wait), Dick Van Dyke, Ralph Macchio, Joe Pesci, Anne Hathaway, Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, (FYI, there's no order to this), Ronald Reagan, Ben Franklin, Chris Pine. Actually, I listen to just about everything except hard core rap or hard core country. But Billy Joel definitely wins. My anthem is definitely Only the Good Die Young. My Favorite YouTubers: vlogbrothers, FineBros, TYLER OAKLEY, o2l, sawyer hartman, dailygrace, hannah hart, jack and finn, danisnotonfire, shane dawson when he's being himself, everyone in Starkid. And, like everything else, the list goes on. A word about Tyler Oakley: this guy is actually one of the funniest people alive. He's got a bit of a dirty mouth, but I've never seen a video of his where I haven't laughed the whole time. My Favorite Fanfictions: If you're looking for something good to read, you should read absolutely everything on my favorites list. But if I had to pick my top, in no particular order, except for the first one, because it's the greatest fanfic ever written: Hogwarts Houses Divided by Inverarity (Seriously, folks, this needs way more readers. It's about Teddy Lupin's first year at Hogwarts, and it's written like Rowling wrote it. It's absolutely perfect, not one word out of place. I've read it eight times.) My Fangirl Side. Proceed with caution. What I like: I don't enjoy reading out of character writing, and I rarely read anything that's non-canon. Although I think its interesting to read everyone else's interpretations of the characters, I never love it as much as I do Rowling's original work. I don't hate on people who do, but I don't understand how you can be a fan of what the author wrote and not sail the same ships he or she created. But hey, if you write something really, really good that's fanon, you'll definitely get credit from me. AUs are fun, because everyone is alive, and imminent death is not a threat. It's cool because all of your favorite characters are there, in a completely different scenario. I enjoy all genres, but I dislike non-happy endings ninety percent of the time. Like, how dare you break them up? Kill your characters off? It's one thing if it's an OC, or if the author killed her character off, but you can't just kill of Ron because you want Hermione and Draco to get together. What are you doing?! No! Frankly, I prefer adventure/mystery/complex plot lines to mainly romantic fics, but I definitely enjoy some romance on the side. Who doesn't? Family and friendship are really special, I think, and I love to read stuff like that. But romance...I mean, I'm a girl. Who doesn't love a good rom com? Oh! Humor is probably my favorite genre. I need plot, but if it's funny, that makes it easily ten times better. Ships I Sail: ABSOLUTE OTPs: JILY: I love they're story, and the romance, and the perfection and that he won her over and ahh!!! PERCABETH: These two are perfect for each other. I read that kiss in last olympian over and over and over. NICHOLAS/PERENELLE: (secrets of flamel). You have to read to understand how amazing they are. They're just so beautiful together. HAZEL/AUGUSTUS: (fault in our stars). I really don't think I can put that one in words. KATNISS/PEETA: He loves her, and she grew to love him. They went through something together that no one else can understand. MARSHALL/LILY: (how i met your mother). They're so cute. I can't. RON/HERMIONE: I had to put another hp in there because these two are too perfect not to be deemed otp. actually, they should be higher on this list. JACK/ROSE: (titanic). Is that really girly of me? All of my short stories/one-shots/drabbles take place outside the 19 year period, and all of them are written for competitions/challenges. SHORT STORIES: These are short multi-chapters, and very rare. I do them when I really feel passionate about a subject. Each contains a different subject that I wanted to explore in length, but not to the extent of a really indepth multichap.
