I really liked this. I love the details of how they met - so many first meeting-type stories involve them meeting on the Hogwarts Express, and it was nice to see something totally different. I love the different personalities that you've given each of them, also. Fabian and Gideon, especially. They were a little bit Fred-and-George-like, but not exactly carbon copies of them. I also really liked the way you wrote Benjy, and the way that he didn't realize how much he missed his friends until he was unable to see them anymore.

There were a couple small SPaG things - 'thoughts on mind' should be 'thoughts on his mind', 'Halls' doesn't need capitalization, etc. - but nothing particularly distracting. Overall, this was a really sweet friendship fic, and I love the dynamic between the four of them. I really liked reading about such minor characters, also.

If this fic was a tribute to food as you have hinted it may be, then it was a very good tribute to food and made me hungry xD
I liked reading about Benjy, I don't read about minor characters - I tend to just stick to my few major characters - so it was quite a refreshing change.
Your characterisation of him, and his interactions with the Prewetts, was brilliant and even though it's only a short fic and I've never read about him before I really like him as a character. The dialogue and how easily they open up to each other is great and it shows just how easy it is for kids sometimes. (I can never just talk to someone like that anymore)
I didn't spot any spelling or grammar errors.
If you wrote something else on Benjy I'd definitely read it :)

This was so sweet! I loved how you used the smaller characters like Benjy (although yes your prompt was Benjy and findin friends at Hogwarts, haha), and Gideon and Fabian, and good god I could kiss you for using Dorcas. It's always Lily, or Marlene, or even Mary, but rarely Dorcas and I loved that you used her instead.

You really fleshed them all out- Benjy with his family troubles are so relatable and really another one of the reasons why kids might stay over for the holidays- and I really loved reading about them. This was really cute.

This was a really enjoyable piece. It was interesting to read about your take on the friendships that would have been formed in that era, and I really liked the way these four interacted. It really seemed like the start of one of those iconic Hp friendships.

SPaG was good, as was the flow of the story. All in all it was a really great piece of insight into all of them, and you gave me information about each of them that I never thought about before.

Aww! That was so cute! Seriously, I loved that. There may have been flaws, but I didn't notice them because I was distracted by the overwhelming cuteness. I love friendship fics with a touch of romance, and yours was exactly that. And it's really nice to see someone bring to life those minor characters we know so little about. Great job!

Good job with Benjy Fenwick. He's mentioned in the books, but you're really brought him to life in this story. The details about his upbringing, dismissal of friendship, and loneliness really set the tone for the Prewett brothers and Dorcas to swoop in!

Speaking of Fabian and Gideon - omg, I loved them. They remind me so much of Fred and George that it almost hurts. Their impression of Molly being crazy in love definitely made me smile haha :)

So, I kinda didn't review as I went as I planned too, because I got sucked into the story, but hey, that counts as a win, right? I really enjoyed it. I like seeing minor characters fleshed out, and I absolutely loved Fabian and Gideon. They kinda reminded me of Fred and George, but not too much so.

Food is definitely one of the things that bonds humans together. I like how you've included it in this story. Hot cocoa on a cold winter's night definitely can provide comfort and happiness. I loved how Benjy didn't think friendship was a necessity until he experienced loneliness. You tied it in really well with the C.S. Lewis quote. I like how the three were able to cheer him up and provide him with comfort without judging him or making him share too much. A close friendship between the four is definitely in the works. Great job on this friendship fic.

My favorite of all the stories I read this round. It even made me want some cocoa and gingerbread, which is pretty good considering it's summer here. ;) A very enjoyable read indeed.

EEP so cute :D I love you for putting the Prewetts in here :D And the insight into Benjy's life is great (I rather liked this round of the QLFC, it really brought out more stories about non-major characters in the series). The fact that he really wants a friend coincides nicely with his parents' situation at home. I love the friendship that he strikes up with Dorcas and the twins :) I did love this story a lot - great job!

This story is very sweet and I like how the twins and Dorcas accepted Benjy right away and were kind and sympathetic to his issues with his parents even though they basically just met him. It's a really touching situation.
