I have always felt sorry for Susannah Peters, as Fred technically sexually harassed her, kissing her without her consent, and that’s not mentioned by any of the other characters. She was very clear she didn’t like him. Even though Fred liked her a lot, he needed to accept her rejection and move on. I don’t know if this is something you will address, in the Name of the Game? (The Name Of the Game always makes me think of the ABBA song btw, even though it doesn’t really fit with the story or the genre.)
But this is a beautiful fic.

I love the idea of James and Eva owning the hugest duvet ever so neither of them get cold.
Also Harry and Ginny Potter embarrassing their kids at every possible moment is what I live for.

The end of this chapter makes me feel so sad I love James and Eva and hate it when they argue, but at the same time they’re both so impulsive and headstrong they wouldn’t be them if they didn’t.
On another note, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love Christine.
And the idea of her and Max and Aristotle exchanging glances at that meeting on the train like ‘sigh. Our friends are so clueless. Judith likes Jonathon who likes Eva who likes James they’re all so clueless why.’

James’ family meddling is my favourite thing seriously. Just — they figure out James likes Eva? Tease him mercilessly. Say they knew it. But then they get to the start of the next school year and they’re like ‘screw it this has gone on too long, it’s been NINE MONTHS AND HE’S NOT OVER HER we need to do something about this he’s half in love with her. maybe she doesn’t like him yet but she defo could they’d be perfect together’. And so at this point, it’s been well over a year of James liking Eva and they’re like ‘yesssss our hard work has paid off thank god she’s finally realisedddd’. And I love it.

I love James’ family. Rose, Lily, Roxanne, Fred, Al, Lily. Even Hugo.

Also Lily and Roxanne being like ‘oh, secret admirer, who could they be from? so romantic!’ when they know perfectly well the flowers are from James is hilarious, as is Lily beaming when Eva reads the card out, like, ‘yes, my bro did a good job! He was romantic and kind of subtle but not too subtle because this is Eva Wood.’

Tho seriously James and Fred and Hugo going all Alpha Male bc Rose got given some flowers is like seriously, what do they think is going to happen? She’s seduced and murdered and raped bc she got sent some flowers? What? She... goes out with a guy? Outrageous.

James and Al and Eva scheming to set up Lily and Richard is beautiful (although it is also fairly obvious they want to know if she fancies James from the girls’ night too). Also, just, the symbolism of Eva realising she wants to break up with Jonathon bc he doesn’t like the smell of the Quidditch shop is *chef kiss*. He hates Quidditch? Whatever. They have nothing in common but school? Fine. He hates the smell of the Quidditch shop? Time to break up. Also then the fact that James realises he’s falling in love with her when she’s gushing about the smell is also *chef kiss*. They’re so cute.

Tbh I kind of hate Tristan and he is being self-centred and selfish but also for Oliver Wood to refuse to let him come home (even though he broke his contract and didn’t tell his parents about it first) at Christmas does feel like a tad bit of an over reaction. Tristan thinks far too much of himself and his abilities but he’s right that playing for Puddlemere isn’t ‘everything’. (And I love how you explore this in The Name Of the Game!)

Honestly I just love Roxanne. And I s’pose Fred’s alright too. :)

I’m rereading this and I forgot what a gem it was. I have this image in my head of Jonathon as this very nerdy, bookish guy, prefers cricket (which, seriously? cricket is quite fun to play j casually, but the boringest sport in the world to watch I swear), very nice, kind of boring though, and it’s all true but in my head this stereotypes him as having a pretty south-eastern, RP accent, and then every so often I remember he’s from MANCHESTER and I have to go back and read everything he says in a strong Manchurian accent in my head and it’s the funniest thing

I absolutely LOVE their characters SO MUCH. I LOVE how you've created so many interesting and quirky people (Sorcha is crazy but so funny to read, especially with how she drives Eva insane, and this last chapter was GOLD), and I love their interactions, even the not so pleasant ones. The Potter-Weasley clan being meddlers is spot-on, XD LMAO. I binge read this all at once, so I couldn't tell you what specific parts I loved the most because everything is just a blur of awesomeness XD You are an amazing writer :) :) :)
