I've read this twice, and each time it made me cry when I was reading Harry's dying thoughts. (I've been pretty tired both times, but it still takes a lot to make me cry reading something.) But Harry's broken longing to be loved and held is heartbreaking, particularly the bit where he wishes he could pretend Snape is holding him because he loves him. I'm glad Snape did at least consent to hold him. And of course I'm glad Harry isn't dead, and the realization that they are still connected, even if Dumbledore thinks they're not, is amusing and provides a lighter ending. Maybe I've read too many Snape-adopts-Harry fanfics, but I can't help hoping he does that after the end of this story and gives Harry the family he needs. Anyhow, I've read a fair number of angsty fics, and yours is the only one that's touched me deeply enough to make me cry twice, so congratulations on your writing here.
