Greetings and welcome, fellow authors! I'm not entirely sure why you're reading this, as I can assure you that there are far more interesting things out there to read. But I'll make an attempt to entertain you for as long as you put up with me. ;)

So what do you want to know about? I suppose I could tell you a little about me and my writing. I graduated from college with a degree in Political Science, International Studies, the Middle East, and Arabic. That's the easiest way to explain my major, anyway. After that, I ended up getting certified to teach math at the secondary level. Go figure. And I wound up teaching math, debate, and a little bit of German. Don't ask. It's been a crazy road. The result is that this craziness translates into stories, and when I write, I try to look at multiple scenarios, motivations, influences, conflicts, cultures, characters, etc. As a warning, the stories get a bit overcrowded from time to time.

At present, the stories you'll find here are all Tolkien based. (At least, they're supposed to be. I have been known to go slightly AU from time to time.) Legolas and Gimli are my favorite characters, and they appear in the majority of the stories. But they are certainly not alone. Aragorn, Faramir, Imrahil, and Eomer are quite insistent, and I have learned to never underestimate Celeborn and Thranduil when they want screen time. The hobbits can be persistent in their own way while Boromir, Elladan, and Elrohir can literally steal the entire story if they feel that they are not receiving enough attention. So all of those characters will creep in from time to time, some more so than others. And while we're here, let me also say that I tend to stick to book-verse. Peter Jackson's interpretation of Lord of the Rings as seen in the cinemas is a spectacular achievement, but the original source had my loyalty long before New Line Cinema gave the go-ahead for a movie.

I should warn you that I am not a regular updater. I work on my stories obsessively and compulsively, but I do have a life outside the written world and I can't update as often as I'd like to. For this, I apologize in advance and hope you will be patient with me. I honestly try to update quickly, but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way.

Last but not least, I need to give praise and acknowledgement to some of my favorite authors. For fanfiction authors, check out my Favorite Stories section as well as my Favorite Authors section. Both have wonderful finds in them. And if you're looking for work beyond the fanfiction world, here are some other suggestions: Needless to say, J.R.R. Tolkien is at the top of this list along with LotR. Next up, I highly recommend Frank Herbert's "Dune." Great political stuff there. Also among my favorites is the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. Fantasy and political. What could be better? I also like Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman's original Dragonlance series as well as the Darksword Trilogy. If you're into original Star Trek, I highly recommend Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, particular their books "Federation" and "Prime Directive." Gordon Dickson has a great series starting with a book called "The Dragon and the George." Just about anything by R.A. Salvatore is good and there's also Piers Anthony's Xanth Chronicles. Isaac Asimov's Foundation series is also great. There's also Orson Scott Card and his "Ender's Game," which is a great book. Also look into Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, which is a beautiful parody of both fantasy and modern life. And of course, no reading list would be complete without Douglas Adams and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
