Book girl fan chapter 5 . 4/10/2018 I know it’s terrible what he’s done, but I feel so sorry for Peter in this moment. This is exactly how I imagine him, having no hope that they will win but just trying to save his friends. In a twisted way, this is Peter’s version of being brave. He’s standing up to his friends in an effort to save them. |
LLB chapter 6 . 12/10/2017 This is such a great story, best version of the events leading up to the Potters' death that I've ever read. Thanks for posting! Going to look for the sequel now! |
PSW chapter 6 . 7/1/2016 So, this was really good. You create a very plausible scenario for how Sirius might have misunderstood and let himself belief that Remus was a traitor. Parts of it were difficult to read, especially the last chapter. I had never really thought of it...but how could Remus function now with all his friends/support system gone? :-( So well written. Thanks for posting! |
Guest in Europe chapter 6 . 5/10/2016 Brilliant... moving... heart-breaking... believable. Thank you. |
maritinkerbell chapter 6 . 4/7/2015 I love this story! You got all of the Marauders just exactly right- brave, optimistic James, angry, irrational, loyal Sirius, clever, ashamed Remus, and scared, in-over-his-head Peter! I particularly like your characterization of Peter. As you've said, it doesn't completely mesh with what we now know from OotP, but honestly it makes more sense that James and Sirius would be friends with your Peter than with that Peter. I particularly love the critics at the Ministry who don't understand why Lily is friends with him, and it was interesting to see his change as he goes from terrified informant to full-fledged Death Eater. Oh, and I love your description/summary for this story- its perfect! |
Rose chapter 6 . 9/18/2014 Really great job! |
LadyClaire87 chapter 6 . 8/10/2013 Now considering you last wrote a story in 2008 I am not sure you'll even read this, but I just wanted to compliment you on a Great story. I have to say I don't really see where it's AU and I really like your ending, because it IS upbeat. I mean the determination in the last sentence really defines the Sirius we know from POA, right? Anyway, I think you managed to write Peter real well. Few authors manage to make him come across as a real person. Lady Claire |
1Bramble123 chapter 6 . 11/14/2012 Okay, I know I'm reading this years after it was published, but I feel the need to review. Badly. Never have I been part of a story as real as this one. I could picture every single second of this story. I was so mad at Peter (even though he was more human in this) and I think I even gave him the finger at one point (an imaginary character in a book getting 'the finger' from a living being. Weird..) Anyway, I cried at the end. I cried sooooo so so so so so so hard. I forgot that Azkaban and onward even existed. This is my favorite fanfiction of all time. Thank you for posting this story (although that was many years ago) |
GalanthaDreams chapter 6 . 3/24/2012 That last chapter deserves an award. Short but impossibly compelling it is effortlessly evocative and heart rending. I love how you describe his moments of sanity and explained how he might have been able to escape insanity in Azkaban after having been there more than a decade. |
Miranda Took chapter 2 . 12/17/2011 I understand why Peter had to hand over the plans, but he could have told Dumbledore, they could have changed plans as well as given him protection. Remus should have spoken out too, but if it ever came to handing out information to the DEs, I think Remus would have chosen to die. |
Kira-Reen chapter 6 . 11/10/2010 Powerful, moving ... and it made me wish for a Time-Turner. It makes me even more bitter that we know how it ends after Darkness Dying. Sirius was freed but he never really got to be Harry's godfather. And Remus died right after he finally got a family; at least one of the Marauders should have had a happy ending damn it. |
Mysteriously Gone Account chapter 6 . 11/5/2009 Drop-dead beautiful piece of fanfiction. My heart ached all the way. |
Her Fantasy chapter 6 . 7/17/2009 Wow, that was fantastic! The awkwardness between Remus and Sirius is so well done. Sirius's paranoia going so far as to distrust his own friend, and Remus's feelings of betrayal...it's just so sad. On a happier note, that article in chapter four, the one about James, was hilarious. I love all the exaggerated compliments! The ending is just...perfect. Absolutely perfect. And I really do love the chapter titles...you got me interested in full moon names now! |
spellcheck chapter 3 . 7/10/2009 It's "non sequitur" (not "non-sequiter"). And "forest" is spelled with one R, not 2. You can delete this after you correct those mistakes. (I think you're allowed to delete anonymous reviews.) |
restinpace chapter 6 . 6/22/2009 I really enjoyed this story. It was really interesting and a good read. But, just so you know, Barty's name is Bartemius. |
