Reviews for Stray but a little
birdladyladybird chapter 1 . 2/9/2019
Boromir is the character that most... grates on my nerves. perhaps because hos faults are those of my own kind, faults I see and am myself everyday... but this piece of writing moved my heart more tenderly for him. Thanks.
TheRedScreech chapter 1 . 1/21/2019
This was an amazing insight into both Legolas and Boromir. I was always a little disappointed in the lack of character development from the Fellowship, especially in their regards to Frodo. The fact that you initially put Legolas as trying to comfort and aid Boromir and then rise to the threat he presented was really well done.

This is a great little story. Thank you for writing!
TimeturnerJasmy chapter 1 . 8/13/2016
A very intriguing character study. I don't think I have ever seen anyone write Legolas as well as you.
wotumba1 chapter 1 . 2/15/2016
what an interesting conversation! never would have thought legolas to be the one to directly confront boromir
Swallow-Tailed Kite chapter 1 . 7/2/2015
I've never thought of Legolas in that manner... I suppose it's quite true, since he /is/ a prince of a diminishing kingdom, but neither book nor movie actually showed this side of him (I think).

Great piece of work! Loved the interactions between two similar but different characters.
Stormcutter684 chapter 1 . 5/2/2015
ouch. Boromir and Legolas get personal. Cuz it's funny, not once in the movie did I see a true interaction between Legolas and Boromir. I love this story. It adds a little twist to the original plot of the Lord of the Rings. :)
Fish chapter 1 . 5/23/2014
This is wonderful, so tense and dark. I feel so sorry for Boromir, and at the same time want him to listen to Legolas' words. You've portrayed both characters so beautifully, and I love the link from Mirkwood to Gondor. The phrasing is very reminiscent of LOTR's style too. It could almost be a lost scene from the books!
Petrichora chapter 1 . 1/25/2013
Years ago, I frequented under a different name, and found your stories through an author called Littlefish. I'm so glad to have found you again, as your stories are always so beautifully written, and this one was no exception. I thought your portrayal of Boromir was spot on: he is a valiant man who is tempted by the Ring, and this story does a fantastic job of exploring his thoughts just prior to his fall.
Iva1201 chapter 1 . 6/15/2012
Beatifully written. Thank you!
yamina-chan chapter 1 . 9/12/2011
A great story, as expected from you.

It is dark and you feel the hopelessness from Boromier and the dangerous thoughts lingering. The writing style and form match the theme perfectly and I belive you also fullfilled the challenge.

Also, I think this is a worthy followup to Beyond the Mountain Passes.

All in all, well done D
WonderingGirl chapter 1 . 9/5/2011
I can't believe I never submitted a review for that story: honestly, it is one of the best I have ever read! I like every line of it and the last one is simply perfect. Thank you for that wonderful fanfiction!

P.S: I hope that you will write more stories about that pairing, because your portrayal of Boromir and Legolas is awesome, AND I absolutely adore it when these two characters interact with each other.
jade silvertongue chapter 1 . 8/3/2011
Beautiful! You captured the essence of each character perfectly, and the struggles of both. I love the fact that this is an interaction between a Man and an Elf with their duty in common, but the ending shows how different Men and Elves can be. Great interaction, amazing contrast, and wonderful literary language. I especially lonve the ending sentence-it definetly makes one think of Boromir's ending, approaching so swiftly..
Inwe Nolatari chapter 1 . 7/25/2011
Wonderful story! I loved the descriptions and the literary language you used. Thank you for such a wonderful story!
sakurasencha chapter 1 . 6/26/2011
I really liked how you connected Boromir and Legolas and gave them common ground in the plight of their homes, I never thought of that connection before. I loved their character interaction and this peak into Boromir's motivation.
Equilly chapter 1 . 6/21/2011
I really liked how you delved into Legolas's character; I think very often, especially in the movies, he's dismissed as the "pretty elf," but here you showed him to care very much for the quest with emotions as deep as anyone else's.

Best!
