I just wanted to let you know that this was the first fanfic I ever read, when I was a wee 12-year-old in 2003, and I loved it so much that I saved it in a word document on the family computer. The other day I was deep in some Tolkien feels and just thinking of how I'd once read this incredibly beautiful description of Legolas and Gimli's trip to Aglarond and wished I could read it again. Miraculously, that folder of random LOTR fandom stuff I saved it in survived the past 15 years and four computers, and I was overjoyed to discover I still had a copy of it. I love it as much as ever-you did a Tolkien-worthy job describing the beauty of the caves, and your portrayal of the mix of humor and tenderness in Legolas and Gimli's friendship is so perfectly in character. So, belatedly-thank you so much for writing this lovely little story and for being my fanfiction gateway drug :)

That description of the first-seen chamber of the caves was absolutely beautiful, especially the pillars. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I am glad I read it.

The sheer beauty of your words captivated my every sense; flowing like the most spectacular of waters, I was all to happy to float along and be lost in this little story. Even I could almost see the Glittering Caves myself! And if their unimaginable glory is as you describe, Legolas might not be the only one who would dissolve into tears at their sight.

Ack good god that was good! The little quote at the bottom proper gave me goosebumps it just fit in so naturally and perfectly and your description of the caves were also so perfect this was simply beautiful to read. Very very good _ If Tolkien had been more precise on the promise other than those few words this is, what i'd like to think, would be written.

I read this several years ago, and added it to my favorites at that time. It has remained one of the best stories that I have read in the LotR genre, and I want to thank you for writing such a beautiful story.
