The ban on magic has been repealed. Merlin should be able to use his magic without fear, but a lifetime of conditioning is hard to overcome. Arthur tries anyway.

When a quick-to-anger noble comes to Camelot, Merlin makes it his job to keep the other servants from being abused by serving the noble himself, but when Arthur and the knights notice that Merlin is acting strangely they decide to keep a closer eye on their friend. It doesn't take long for them to realize something is horribly wrong.

The dragon always said they were two sides of the same coin. But alas, as is the way with coins, the sides are always destined to face away from each other.

Too many drinks to count later, and Arthur finds himself with a very illegal spell from a druid. Now armed with magic, Arthur begins the long journey of repealing the law. In the same vein, this is also a story where in 721 Arthur saves Merlin's life, in 1707 he carves a wooden sword and in 2013 disappears right before Merlin's eyes.

Uther and Merlin are kidnapped but escape and have to make the long journey home. They get into a lot of trouble along the way and being a peasant isn't fun for Uther or having to rely on one. However, they are being hunted by more than their kidnapers.

Merlin and Arthur are captured by bandits on a hunting trip, except unlike ordinary bandits, they know Merlin is a sorcerer.

Weighed down by his secrets, Merlin allows himself to tell Arthur that the dragonlord they are seeking is his father. How does this affect what's going to happen? Set during The Last Dragonlord and is going to be a prequel to a story I'm writing. No slash
