It's beautifull! I love how you played with "overtired depressed Merlin - Arthur's surprise" line. Aithusa is priceless (but idk why I always thought that it's SHE - little awkward ). Gwaine is so Gwaine, and the prank with knights make me laugh out loud. Oh, and thanks for involving Hunith, it seems like everyone forgot about her in their fics. Well, now I'm gonna read the sequel(is that what it called?) about lovely Freya.

Gwaine was not out of character, he would definitely react like that. But I literally stumbled in my reading, when he called Merlin best friend. Arthur and Merlin are two sides of a coin as said before, they both could never have any other best friends, but Merlin will still be Gwaine's best friend even if he could not reciprocate the same.
It makes me feel guilty that I want Arthur and Merlin to be best friends, but if that happens, Gwaine will be, well, he exactly won't be alone, but...
