Deon J. Austin chapter 9 . 7/10 I love all of it how it should have beenalong. Also how Arthur lived to accept Merlin as a Sorcerer. |
gaylelbf chapter 14 . 9/7/2019 Interesting |
akosua chapter 14 . 10/25/2017 Very creative and impressive continuation, you have really keep me in touch with my favorite movie thanks |
QueenNaberrie chapter 14 . 10/1/2016 Bravo! Much better ending. Although it's too bad Arthur & Gwen never had children. I never considered that Mougaus (sp?) had enchanted Morgana Luke Morgana had Gwen but it makes sense. But at least in this version Albion came to pass and Arthur lived for many years after Season 5. Mordred also found peace & had let go of his hate. It's too bad they went to battle because a snake prompted a night to draw his sword in defense. All those lives lost due to something beyond their control & a misrepresentation of an action. Thank you for writing this. |
ALyn Pid chapter 11 . 9/1/2016 whatever story route it is, Arthur's destiny is still the same. *sigh* |
a.narnian chapter 14 . 6/30/2016 What a lot of effort has gone into this. The story-telling has a lot of the pace and scope of the series, especially in the early chapters, and, like series 5, you present an overall narrative beginning with Arthur learning to accept Merlin and later moving towards the closing elements of the legend. The characterization is generally true to the series, and I often found myself thinking, 'This really would have worked as series six.' The notion of Morgana herself being enchanted was one I hadn't thought of, but it's a credible and clever explanation for who she becomes (though I tend to think that even early on, you could see that she was unhinged and quite focused on herself). Merlin's decision to leave Arthur in this final 'episode' is... difficult, I suppose. It seals Arthur's fate and ensures that everything that's been foreseen comes to pass, and seemingly because Merlin wanted to be elsewhere. I struggle a little with that because that's not how we've known Merlin up until now - but then, this episode is set quite some years later, and perhaps he has changed. He certainly doesn't think he's needed in the same way any more, and there is quite a strong sense of not being able to fight destiny here - even Mordred is killed despite abandoning his desire to kill Arthur, and destiny seems quite cruel, really, but that rings true of a lot this kind of mythology. I liked the nod to the various elements of the legend, even if I tend to think that anyone who writes Arthur's death should have to write a follow-up story dealing with his resurrection ;) But that's just me wanting more - so thank you for all of this. I enjoyed it. |
Lollypops101 chapter 14 . 6/5/2016 Great story! |
wryter501 chapter 1 . 11/21/2015 i like your use of (and circumvention of) dialogue and scenes of the last ep. so very natural that kilgarrah would be able to help with this wound... taking the fatal shard out, but still leaving him weak and recovering - but on the way back to camelot, not avalon! |
the-dreamer4 chapter 13 . 10/9/2015 Finally someone wrote this! I've wanted to see 'Morgause used the Tien Diaga on Morgana' (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and 'Destiny and Doom' meant doom to the evil queen and the return of Arthur's sister. The only other piece might have been Destiny meaning Mergana. Oh well. She's right that Camelot woukdn't understand it wasn't her fault. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And you even took it a step further that it started with Nimueh! I never believed she didn't know Ygraine would pay the price. I just wish I could have come up with the story to go with the concept. Good job! Dreamer |
mizzymel chapter 10 . 9/19/2015 I'm afraid to read beyond this chapter, because I refuse to acknowledge or read Arthur's death. Mostly because that's why I read Merlin fanfiction in order to fix that and give me a happy ending. Having said that, this is brilliant as are all of your writings. |

Sarbani chapter 14 . 7/5/2015 I just want to say one thing. Thank you. Thank you for writing this. It gave me the much needed closer after the diamond of the day part 2, because I could never deal with the fact that arthur and merlin did not complete their destiny of albion. It gave arhur's death a purpose, merlin's life a purpose. You stayed true to the legends as much as possible. And I got to see the one thing I wantec to see the most, arthur and merlin's journey, come a full circle. It was a pleasure to read and hopefully you will keep writing because idid not fibd anyone else (yet) who captured the arthur and merlin from our beloved tv show as good as you did. Looking forward to more of your work. csarbani14 |
Guest chapter 10 . 4/25/2015 Loved Ysmay, best character. |
Guest chapter 9 . 4/25/2015 Doesn't make sense that Mordred is still alive. |
Yazzi chapter 14 . 4/2/2015 That's brilliant. Very well written and brilliant, but it hurts. Then again, I just hate endings in general. |
