Nice chapter. I really did think they should have killed Merlin of and not Arthur only because it be an interesting twist of things. I feel sort of bad for Merlin all that hard work for nothing, that's what really got me upset about the ending. Merlin lost so many people to protect Arthur the least the writers could had done is unsure Merlin did what he was goi to do. Even if it wasn't how the tail ended.

You could have wrote a Arthur upset with his father and possible even turning on the Kingdom because of what Uther did to Merlin. Other then that I'm sort of glad that didn't happen in the show because poor Merlin. I do love the brotherly exchanged though of Arthur taking him into a cuddle and Gwen and Arthur promising to look after Merlin.

All the more reason to think Merlin is practically their child. At least that's my head cannon is the pair see him in such light.

I'm happy if Arthur had a child I could see the kids calling Merlin Uncle Meelin even if he was still a man servant.

hello! SO, I absolutely LOVE this series so far, and as I see that it's not complete, I would like to make a suggestion/request. I would LOVE for there to be a chapter where Merlin gets bronchitis/pneumonia and they are out on a rather long hunt. Arthur pretends like he doesn't care but when Merlin gets too ill he tries to nurse him back to health. Fluff, coughing, all that. Thanks for reading!

I have really enjoyed these one shots. Perhaps you could try one where Merlin is captured and Arthur cares for him upon rescuing him?

I love when people do multi-chapter sick or injured fics. Thank you so much. I agree with you about the whole Merlin being sick. For some reason I seems to enjoy those stories more, usually. Seeing Merlin try and fake his way out of Arthur noticing that he is weak is something I can actually see him do. You do a great job at capturing the bromance these two share, and showing that Arthur really does care about Merlin and wants the best for him.
