I find Arthur more interesting than Merlin because Arthur is more conflicted (both in general and in this specific scene). I liked how you handled his reaction. You did a very good job showing his scattered thoughts. Thanks for sharing this other side of the coin of TLoT.

I was out of the fandom already, okay? And suddenly an alert from a community that I was following pops up in my email and I said, let's read it, nothing bad can come with it.
Well I was wrong.
First because I'm crying for some reason? And second because you just pulled me right back into the fandom and do you even know how long it took me to free myself from its addictive grasp? Ages, I tell you, and even now I keep coming back to read something when I get an alert, but until now I hadn't felt the need to bury myself again with Merlin.
I want to watch the whole series again now! I don't have time for that!
Well, I liked this even more from Arthur's point of view. Thank you so much for such a glorious characterization. And for keeping it real and writing the perfect balance of anger and incredulity and betrayal and hurt. I don't even know what to say about this, and I was serious when I said I ended up crying at some point.
I swear if I get swallowed again by this fandom it's going to be your fault, you've ruined me.
