There are twenty-six letters in the english alphabet. In that perspective, it seems almost insignificant, like there’s not enough to work with. But throughout your life, you learn how to sculpt those twenty-six letters into works of beauty, tragedy, and power. And then soon you discover, there was more than enough.

Ever since I was young, I would stay up late at night to write in journals or read books about adventure and fantasies. I had dreamed of other people reading my writing, but at the same time I wanted the exact opposite. Though I wanted my ideas to be known, I was fond of having my stories to myself. They were like a safe haven to me. Writing was always safer, because a pencil couldn’t stutter like spoken words could. People around me have always assumed that I chose to be a reader and a writer in order to escape the world I didn’t like. And, in all honesty, they couldn’t be more right. In this world, I have no control. I am simply a color, a height, a weight, a number. In my writing, I can be different. I’m capable of making changes. Life was more manageable.

there is an infinitely large difference between failing and struggling. you are not failing. if you were failing, you would not be where you are now. you are struggling, and that is completely okay. you can struggle for as long as you need. struggle until you're so frustrated and angry that you want to succeed just out of spite. you will not fail if you are struggling. struggling means you are learning. it means you are still trying. so struggle. it's okay. just don't give up.
